Wanda woke up, but her body was still quite weak. It seemed that the layer of red light had taken a lot out of her.
But the siblings didn't seem to be experiencing this for the first time. Neither of them looked the least bit flustered.
"You're not from around here, so the Ten Rings were looking for you." Luo Xia turned to Wanda and Pietro.
"We... didn't mean to hide it." Pietro looked a little ashamed. He seemed to understand just how much trouble he'd brought to this town.
"Then why don't you tell me what's going on? Maybe I can help." Luo Xia offered.
"You? You can't help us." Pietro scoffed.
Luo Xia smiled, walked over to a dead terrorist, and picked up a pistol from his body. Then, right in front of the siblings, he used the AllSpark's energy to transform it into a Pulse Pistol.
Wanda and Pietro both stared at the sight in astonishment.
Pietro asked excitedly, "You're from Strucker's lab, too...?"
"Pietro!" Wanda immediately cut him off.
Though Pietro was just a tiny bit older than Wanda, he was far less composed than his sister.
"I don't know who this Strucker of yours is, but it's clear we all have our secrets. So, can you tell me who you really are? From your accents, I'd guess you're Russians. What brought you here, and why did you get mixed up with the Ten Rings?" Luo Xia asked.
Pietro glanced at Wanda. When his sister didn't shake her head, he chose his words carefully. "We're from Sokovia. We were trying to get to New York, but we had an accident and ended up in Afghanistan."
"An accident?" Luo Xia thought. You can't tell me you read the place names wrong.
Wanda had no choice but to
