Background

Feng Zi is the daughter of Speaker Feng, whose inheritance included Patent No. 626 and the Light Stone housed in Sun City’s White Tower. After learning that both 626 and her father’s other relics were in Sun City, she traveled from Central to recover them. Tian’en Company and Sun City’s authorities instead placed her under house arrest. 3 4 6

She injected 626—later known as Li Wei—with a Key, enabling him to access natural science. Since granting a Key to a bio-human is considered a severe scientific taboo, the company ordered his destruction; Feng Zi escaped the No. 7 Test Site with him. 3 5 23

Although physically impaired and hunted by the police, Feng Zi led Li Wei through the Afterglow District, seeking help beneath the barrier and pursuing the recovery of the Light Stone. Her initial plan depended on Feng Yanyi’s connections, but he refused to endanger Border Market for her cause. Feng Zi accepted his decision without resentment and instead pursued access to the White Tower through the Twilight Church Choir. 5 6 15 17
