Background / History

Li Wei entered the world as a game tester and awakened in the body and identity of Liang Xincheng, an apparently ordinary eighteen-year-old with a loving family. He quickly notices that the town, his “parents,” Doctor Fang, and the injection administered by Feng Zi are all suspicious. 1

Doctor Fang paralyzes him, after which his adoptive parents reveal that he is an experimental subject. They remove one of his kidneys, burn the storage shed to erase evidence, and leave the town believing him dead. 2 Li Wei returns physically unscarred, learns that the town was a fabricated growth environment, and discovers that he is bio-human patent No. 626. He kills both adoptive parents while extracting information about his origins. 3

Unable to find a logout function, Li Wei decides to treat completing the world’s “main quest” as his route out. He escapes the testing ground with Feng Zi, adopting disguises and moving through Sun City’s labor districts while avoiding police searches. 4 6

Appearance

Li Wei has an artificially optimized appearance designed from millions of selected male genetic samples. He is nearly 1.9 meters tall, exceptionally handsome, and physically imposing enough that he often dirties his face, changes his clothes, and dishevels his hair to avoid standing out. 6 7

  • Sharp yet soft-edged, flawless facial features 6
  • Tall, nearly 1.9 meters 7
  • Muscular when shirtless and lean when clothed 6
  • Naturally striking enough to remain noticeable even beneath dust and laborer’s clothing 7
  • Frequently uses false names, grime, dyed hair, and stolen clothing as disguises 6 7

Personality

Li Wei initially treats the world as a game and its inhabitants as code, allowing him to kill with alarming calmness. He is blunt, irreverent, and often defuses tense situations with jokes, teasing Feng Zi even while they are fleeing police or tending wounds. 11 19

He is highly pragmatic: he helps the coal miners’ families recover compensation but keeps an agreed thirty-percent share, and he pursues Li Ming’s debt-collection proposal partly for its immense experience-point value. 10 13 43 However, his pragmatism does not prevent compassion. He protects Feng Zi, honors Wang Xiaole’s dying request, tries to extract Su Ya and Xiao Wei, and directs his violence toward people he considers exploiters. 32 39 47 50

Li Wei is also unusually observant. He notices subtle signs of fear in Nanny Cheng, predicts hostile intentions from the mine foremen, and identifies the Bishop through circumstantial clues others overlook. 7 30 35

Abilities & Skills

Player System

Li Wei possesses the Player class, which converts acquired wealth into experience and allows attribute allocation between Constitution and Intelligence. Legal income converts at a 1:1 rate, while illegally obtained assets convert at 100,000:1. 1 9

  • Great Blessing — can designate distant Blessing Points and respawn there after death; each death deducts 70% of his experience. 1
  • Extraordinary Physique — grants an abnormal constitution and a genius-level mind and body; under suitable conditions, he can master skills from other classes. 1
  • One for All — requests from others may trigger quests with corresponding rewards. 1
  • Legal compensation collection proves vastly more efficient for leveling than murder-based illicit gains. 12 13

Enhanced Physique

Even before allocating attributes, Li Wei possesses strength, stamina, and reflexes far beyond ordinary humans. He can overpower adults, use improvised weapons effectively, and survive fights against multiple armed opponents. 7 14

  • Increasing Constitution from 12 to 13 noticeably strengthens his muscles and neural reflexes. 13
  • His enhanced reflexes and physical control make him an instinctive marksman with a pistol. 18
  • He defeats Border Market thugs, a cleaver-wielding butcher, corrupt mine foremen, and security personnel through direct combat. 11 14 49

Gravity Manipulation (Basic)

After Feng Zi begins teaching him physics, Li Wei unlocks the ability to interfere with gravitational force. 19 21

  • Can make small objects, such as a comb, float in mid-air. 21
  • Higher Intelligence improves the scale and stability of his manipulation. 22
  • At Intelligence 20, he creates a roughly 10-meter-radius weightlessness domain affecting objects, himself, and Feng Zi. 22
  • Can reduce gravity on himself for greater mobility and use precise gravitational control to direct his thrown short sword. 22 37
  • Early use causes strain; his control is indirect rather than absolute, with limited range and force. 22

Cellular Regeneration

Li Wei unlocks Cellular Regeneration during the battle against Bishop Twilight. 37

  • Rapidly repairs injuries, including a wound to his shoulder. 37
  • Improves his physical resilience and bodily control. 38
  • Lets him continue fighting after suffering damage that shocks the Bishop, who expects him to be incapacitated. 37

Observation and Tactical Reasoning

Li Wei routinely reads people, identifies dangers, and exploits opponents’ assumptions.

  • Detects Zhang Ling’s predatory intentions through his eye movements and behavior. 7
  • Anticipates the foremen’s mine ambush and kills them first. 10 11
  • Infers that Bishop Twilight is behind the stolen corpses, organ trafficking, and Wang Xiaole’s missing eyes. 35
  • Uses disguises, infiltration, bribery, intimidation, and negotiation according to the situation. 6 46 49

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Short sword — a finely made, approximately 60-centimeter blade gifted by Feng Yanyi; Li Wei uses it against Bishop Twilight, traffickers, and Councilor Wang. 15 35 48 50
  • Secret communicator — a palm-sized, handwriting-based device Feng Zi gives him for covert communication while they are separated within the Church. 26
  • Digital voice recorder — provided by Feng Zi to preserve evidence concerning Su Ya’s death and related crimes. 48
  • Improvised weapons — has used a boning knife, dining knife, wooden club, steel rebar, firearms, and even a corpse as a bullet shield. 3 10 14 18

Relationships

  • Feng Zi — Companion, teacher, and closest ally. She injects the key that awakens his abnormal state, teaches him physics, protects him during the Bishop incident, and remains fiercely loyal despite his public vilification. 1 19 35 40
  • Feng Yanyi — Feng Zi’s “Uncle Feng” and a former scientist living in the Border Market. He gives Li Wei the short sword in gratitude for protecting Feng Zi. 15
  • Li Ming — President of the labor union. Initially a witness to Li Wei’s actions at the Church, he later assists Li Wei’s entry into Yaoguang and contracts with him to collect unpaid labor debts. 39 41 43
  • Wang Xiaole — Child laborer and beneficiary of Li Wei’s compensation scheme. Li Wei promises to recover his eyes after his death and entrusts them to Li Ming for return. 13 32 39
  • Su Ya — Li Ming’s niece. Li Wei investigates her disappearance, attempts to arrange her extraction with Xiao Wei, and avenges her death after learning of the trafficking network behind it. 47 48 50
  • Xiao Wei — Su Ya’s young son. After Su Ya’s death, Li Wei takes him from Hongle Street and intends to return him to Afterglow and Li Ming. 48
  • Bishop Twilight — Enemy and organ-harvesting monster. Li Wei exposes his true form, battles him with Feng Zi’s support, and destroys the Bishop’s original heart beneath his right armpit. 35 38
  • Liang Xincheng’s adoptive parents — Handlers in his false upbringing. They torture, harvest, and attempt to kill him; Li Wei kills both after learning he is an experimental subject. 2 3
