Background / History

Tang San grew up in Holy Soul Village as Tang Yin’s younger identical twin. Their father, Tang Hao, neglected the children from an early age, leaving them to manage household work such as chopping wood and fetching water; Old Jack and other villagers provided crucial help. Unlike Tang Yin, Tang San had already begun cultivating the Mysterious Heaven Skill during childhood. 1

At the martial soul awakening ceremony, Tang San manifested Blue Silver Grass and shocked Deacon Su Yuntao by testing at Innate Full Soul Power. He secretly also awakened the Clear Sky Hammer, making him a Twin Martial Soul possessor. 2

Tang San’s past-life attachment to the Tang Sect became focused on Tang Yin after Tang Yin awakened the Mysterious Jade Hand and Purple Demon Eye—arts Tang San regarded as the Tang Sect’s supreme inheritances. When Tang Hao disparaged Tang Yin’s martial soul, Tang San stopped considering Tang Hao a true father and resolved to protect Tang Yin above all else. 3 4

He taught Tang Yin the Mysterious Heaven Skill, Purple Demon Eye, Mysterious Jade Hand, and Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track, viewing his brother as the Tang Sect’s rightful successor. The brothers pledged to rebuild the Tang Sect together. 4 5

Following Tang San’s resonance with Blue Silver Grass in the northwest, the twins located their mother, Ah Yin, behind a waterfall. Tang San refused the 100,000-year Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone and insisted that Tang Yin absorb it, believing Tang Yin’s body-type martial souls and Tang Sect legacy made him the better recipient. 5 6 7

Appearance

After more than a year of cultivation and physical conditioning, Tang San grew to over 1.6 meters tall. His build became sturdy and well-proportioned as he began to lose his childhood appearance. 21

  • Identical younger twin of Tang Yin. 1
  • Has a sturdy, increasingly mature physique. 21
  • His Blue Silver Grass develops into a crystalline blue-silver vine after absorbing the Evergreen Vine ring. 16

Personality

Tang San is intensely loyal to Tang Yin, whom he considers both family and the central hope for restoring the Tang Sect. He readily follows Tang Yin’s plans, from martial soul development to independent soul hunting, and repeatedly yields opportunities to strengthen his brother. 4 6 16 23

He is respectful and dutiful toward those he considers deserving of it, including Old Jack and Director Su. However, insults toward Tang Yin or the Tang Sect provoke immediate anger; this is especially evident in his hostility toward Tang Hao and Yu Xiaogang. 3 14 17

Tang San is also determined to become powerful enough to support the Tang Sect’s revival. He accepts Tang Yin’s “Extreme Life Flow” plan for Blue Silver Grass because it complements his own hidden weapons and Tang Yin’s close-range combat. 16 20
