Three days after Fane visited the Archisoren Duke Mansion.
Compared to the usual quiet of War God Mountain, where everyone was busy cultivating, today the mountain was exceptionally lively. Today was the day Blumer would propose to Julie and present the betrothal gifts.
This had been decided upon by Olivier and Fane, and Fane had long since relayed the news to all the junior disciples on War God Mountain.
It caused quite a shock among the disciples of War God Mountain. Everyone knew of Julie's special status on the mountain; they all felt that the War God would not easily let her marry. They understood that what the War God wanted was not merely to continue the family line—many could do that—but for the O'Brien clan to produce a true Saint-level expert.
At the same time, everyone knew that Blumer and Julie had a complicated history, often at odds like fire and water. Furthermore, Blumer had only just broken through to the Saint-level, while Julie was still stuck at the ninth rank; it hardly seemed like the right time for a marriage.
Beyond the shock, there was also envy and jealousy.
The War God had over twenty direct disciples, and there were quite a few nominal disciples who had reached the Saint-level as well. Blumer's strength was currently at the very bottom of all the Saint-level experts. Despite his young age, in a world where strength was king, a genius who had not yet matured was not enough to command respect. It was just like when Linley and Dixie were at Ernst Institute; they were both geniuses, but no one was certain they would definitely step into the Saint-level. Previously, even the War God did not think Olivier would be able to break through to the God-level. There were limitations to one's foresight, but history had proven that many geniuses indeed stalled out.
As disciples of the War God, everyone knew that after entering the Saint-level, increasing one's strength relied primarily on comprehending the profound mysteries of the Laws. Blumer could not comprehend these mysteries as quickly as Olivier, and his rapid breakthrough to the Saint-level had relied on Olivier's Light Shadow Sword.
The disciples of War God Mountain had a rough understanding of each other's strength, though they did not know that Blumer had already gained an entry-level understanding of the profound mysteries.
The War God Hall was the largest building on War God Mountain, located at the very peak. Inside, the statue of the War God was enshrined, and the War God himself occasionally resided there. It was also the residence of the O'Brien clan members on the mountain. Of course, only those of the O'Brien clan with exceptional talent would be brought here; otherwise, even someone like His Majesty Emperor Joanne would not be qualified to live here.
In a luxurious room in the center of the War God Hall, Julie was pacing back and forth, feeling alternately happy and annoyed, not knowing what to do with herself. This state had persisted ever since the War God told her that Blumer would personally come to propose to her.
"Blumer, what kind of tricks are you trying to play? I'll make you pay for this later."
Julie muttered to herself, though her heart felt incredibly sweet.
Julie had been favored by her family since she was young, and she had spent most of her time cultivating. What woman does not dream of romance? She also hoped to have a man who would cherish her.
Blumer had always cultivated diligently on War God Mountain, taking his elder brother as his goal. Although he liked Julie, he had never shown it much. Firstly, his strength was insufficient. Secondly, he knew the War God would not approve.
Many people had already gathered in the War God Hall. The lowest among them were at the ninth rank, and there were dozens of Saint-level experts who were rarely seen in daily life. Almost all of the War God's direct and nominal disciples had come.
Blumer arrived amidst the anticipation of the crowd, accompanied by Olivier and a large entourage.
Today, Blumer wore a black noble suit, looking dashing and elegant. Olivier and the others were also dressed in formal attire, forming a sharp contrast with the martial robes of the War God Mountain disciples.
"Fane, is everything arranged?"
Olivier asked as he pulled Fane aside.
"I have already had people bring Julie into the War God Hall," Fane replied with a smile.
Many of these things had been arranged by Olivier; he had been struck by a sudden whim to organize the wedding for Blumer, and naturally, it had to be something out of the ordinary.
Olivier signaled for Blumer to walk into the War God Hall.
Choosing the War God Hall held extraordinary significance for both of them, as they were both disciples of the War God, and they would be making their vows under his witness.
The entourage in formal wear had already been guided to arrive at the War God Hall first, lining up in two rows. Blumer appeared at one end, while Julie stood at the other.
Blumer walked step by step toward Julie, holding a bouquet of red flowers that resembled roses. He presented the flowers and knelt on one knee.
"Julie, the first time I saw you, I fell deeply in love with you... Julie, will you marry me?"
Blumer made his heartfelt confession, recounting the bits and pieces of their time together, sweet and tender. He coaxed Julie until she was dizzy with happiness, and the thought of making Blumer pay had long since been cast to the winds. She blushed and agreed.
Blumer took out a ring set with a sparkling red gemstone, inside which flowed a rich aura of fire elemental energy. It was incredibly precious, and for a fire-style mage, it was a priceless treasure.
This ring was something Olivier had obtained after robbing a Saint-level Flame Dragon; he had originally intended to give it to Sophie in the future.
Once she put it on, Julie immediately realized the ring's function—at the very least, it could save half the time required for spellcasting, and it was so beautiful.
Although Julie possessed many magic items, this ring was definitely one of her best pieces of equipment.
"Legend has it that this ring was a gift from a God-level expert to his lover ten thousand years ago. This is the first of the three gifts I am giving you today."
Seeing Julie's moved expression, Blumer spoke again at the perfect moment.
Julie was moved once more and threw herself into Blumer's arms, the two of them embracing deeply.
In truth, no one actually knew the origin of the ring; who could possibly know about events from ten thousand years ago?
"Blumer, what about your other two gifts?"
After the two had embraced for a long time, someone who had grown impatient—whether out of envy or jealousy—interrupted their tender moment.
Blumer gazed at Julie affectionately for a moment, then smiled mysteriously.
"Everyone, I intend to give the remaining two gifts to Julie in private."
With that, he took Julie's hand and ran out of the War God Hall.
Olivier had the numerous betrothal gifts brought in, then he too departed from War God Mountain.
That night, outside Red Flame City, the most magnificent fireworks display in history was set off. According to witnesses, the fireworks formed the words "Julie, I love you" in the sky.
"Julie, do you like it? This is the second gift I have for you."
As the fireworks bloomed, Blumer asked Julie at a certain spot.
"I love it." Julie leaned her head against Blumer's shoulder, watching the sky full of fireworks, and replied, "But, Blumer, what is the third gift you are going to give me?"
Julie looked at Blumer and asked, as she truly could not imagine what kind of gift it would be.
"Do you want to know?"
"Yes."
Blumer gazed at Julie, who was waiting for him to produce his third gift; she had been extremely satisfied with the first two.
"This third gift, which is also the most important one, is right before your eyes."
"Before my eyes? Where? I don't see anything." Julie looked ahead, seeing nothing at all. "If you dare to trick me, I'll make you regret it."
Julie made a move to strike Blumer, but her hand was caught by him.
"Silly, my third gift is myself. I am giving myself to you; isn't that the best gift of all?"
Blumer looked at Julie with deep affection as he spoke.
"You're annoying, who wants you?"
Julie understood in an instant, her face flushing with bashful shyness.
Blumer said nothing more; looking at his incomparably beautiful fiancée, he leaned in and kissed her.
The next day, the two finally appeared again.
O'Brien Imperial Palace.
"The Old Ancestor intends to marry Imperial Sister Julie to Blumer."
His Majesty Joanne had received the news rather late. Although Julie was his cousin, he, as the Emperor, had no authority over those who had reached War God Mountain.
This news was a good thing for the empire, as it would bring the Achisoren Family and the imperial family even closer. However, it offered no personal benefit to him, though he no longer had to worry about how to win over the Achisoren Family.
Soon, news of the marriage between Blumer and Julie spread throughout the imperial capital. Blumer began inviting friends and family to the wedding and started planning the arrangements, leading to an increase in visitors to the mansion.
Many people had been at a loss as to how to establish a relationship with the Achisoren Family, and they naturally would not miss this excellent opportunity.
However, these matters did not disrupt Olivier's life; he remained as he always was.
The wedding day arrived quickly.
The Achisoren Family had originally been a fallen house with few members, and Blumer's fellow disciples were not numerous either. Yet, so many uninvited guests arrived that the two brothers eventually decided to only send invitations to families with Saint-level experts; even so, the number of people was significant.
With more people came more tasks. Fortunately, with Sherlock acting as the steward, everything was handled properly.
Early in the morning, Blumer set off for War God Mountain to welcome his bride.
The wedding procession consisted only of Blumer and Olivier. Olivier rode on Simba, while Blumer sat atop a Saint-level Golden Dragon.
This Saint-level Golden Dragon, named Tesman, had been specifically captured by Olivier in the Magical Beast Mountain Range and was coerced and enticed into signing a master-servant contract with Blumer.
Julie possessed a Phoenix, said to carry the bloodline of the Phoenix; Blumer had a Saint-level Golden Dragon. It was a perfect match of dragon and phoenix, a very auspicious sign.
On the return journey, they flew directly from War God Mountain to the Archisoren Duke Mansion on their Saint-level magical beasts.
Blumer and Julie, dressed in wedding attire, sat on the Golden Dragon and the Phoenix respectively, leading the way. Olivier, riding Simba, and the various Saint-level experts from War God Mountain followed behind, flying at a slow pace visible to all commoners.
The War God had spoken, ordering his disciples to cooperate with the wedding, which was the only reason the Saint-level experts of War God Mountain were so accommodating.
"Mommy, come quickly and look! There are so many people flying in the sky."
"Ah, so many Saint-level powerhouses, and there's a Golden Dragon and a Phoenix!"
In Red Flame City, Saint-level experts were not rare, but the sight of so many Saint-level powerhouses and Saint-level magical beasts flying together at such a slow pace had never occurred before.
Finally, all the Saint-level experts landed in front of the Archisoren Duke Mansion.
Olivier, as the elder brother acting in the role of a father, and Fane, representing the War God, served as the witnesses for the wedding of Blumer and Julie on behalf of both families.
Although the War God attached great importance to this wedding, he did not appear himself, as he was a God-level entity.
The Achisoren Family had officially welcomed its true mistress.
