Olivier left the imperial capital of the Yulan Empire and flew straight toward Linley's Baruch Kingdom.
After a period of peaceful living, his heart had calmed, but some of his passion had faded. Now that Olivier had embarked on the path of cultivation once more, he unleashed his speed and flew freely through the skies, indulging in speed and passion.
Before he knew it, his speed became faster and more exhilarating. When he finally stopped, he discovered that the Profundity of Light Speed had broken through and reached the Saint-level limit as well. This was the third profound mystery he had brought to the Saint-level limit. In other words, every profound mystery he had comprehended was only one step away from divinity.
"Next, I should break through to divinity as quickly as possible. I also need to find the point of compatibility between the Light Element profound mysteries and the Profundity of Light Speed. The best method would be to comprehend and fuse them at the same time.
"Besides, I need to comprehend more profound mysteries."
"I just don't know what secrets that transparent Taiji Diagram in my soul sea holds. It seems capable of helping the Laws of Light and Darkness fuse together, and it feels as though the growth of my soul and the strengthening of my physical body are both related to it. If this growth continues, reaching the level of a Sovereign Artifact through cultivation will be only a matter of time."
Olivier understood clearly that Sovereigns stood supreme in this world, and no one could cultivate into a Sovereign. But he was an anomaly. He believed that if he fused the profound mysteries of Light and Darkness into one, he definitely would not be inferior to a Sovereign.
That was getting ahead of himself. For now, his main goal was still to become a god first.
On the Yulan Continent, the only thing that could help one cultivate to godhood was likely the secret chamber created by Beirut.
Looking at the whole story, Linley's ability to become a god before Olivier had much to do with that secret chamber. Later, after receiving the help of the Bauhinia Sovereign in Hell, his strength had grown so quickly.
A good environment was extremely important for cultivation.
"Baruch City is ahead."
A massive city appeared before Olivier. It was somewhat smaller than Red Flame City and the imperial capital of the Yulan Empire, but on the Yulan Continent, it was already considered a very large city.
"I'll go in and take a look around first, then head to the royal palace to find Linley."
Having arrived in the Baruch Kingdom, Olivier decided to spar with Linley first and see how strong Linley currently was. Then he would seek out the secret chamber.
"Hyah!"
A luxurious carriage passed through the city. The people inside could not be seen, and it was not moving quickly, yet pedestrians along the road took the initiative to make way and bow respectfully.
"Brother, whose carriage is that?"
Olivier found it strange. What sort of person could be so beloved by the people?
"You don't even know that? You must be new here. This is our Prince Sini's carriage."
Olivier had not expected the people of the Baruch Kingdom to hold the Baruch clan in such high regard. It seemed Wharton truly had done a good job as king.
Following his usual habits, Olivier wandered around for a while, found a fine restaurant for a meal, and then headed toward the royal palace.
Before the Baruch royal palace was an enormous square. In the square stood a ten-meter-tall statue. Olivier recognized it at a glance—it was Linley.
"As the founding emperor of a kingdom, he really does look imposing."
Olivier looked at the statue as he spoke. Unfortunately, he had no interest in such things. Otherwise, he might have created an empire to play with himself.
Baruch Kingdom Royal Palace.
Emperor Wharton was handling state affairs. Ever since Linley had handed the throne over to Wharton, Wharton had diligently governed the nation and won the love of the Baruch Kingdom's people. Wharton was very gifted in governing, but it had consumed too much of his time. He had only just entered the ninth rank, and after transforming, he was at the early Saint level. He had not even comprehended effortless mastery, and his strength could not compare to Linley's back then.
"Blumer has broken through to the Saint level. I should spend more time cultivating as well. Olivier's strength has advanced so quickly—he defeated Haydson with a casual move. I wonder who is stronger, him or my eldest brother?"
Wharton had great confidence in Linley, but Olivier's progress had simply been too fast, making it difficult for him to judge. Still, deep down, he believed Linley was stronger.
Blumer and Olivier were brothers, just as he and Linley were brothers. Now, both he and Blumer were early Saint-level warriors, while Olivier and his eldest brother were probably not too far apart in strength. They were both outstanding geniuses. It was quite interesting.
Wharton became absorbed in thought.
"Wharton, you've done well as emperor. You're a good emperor."
A voice suddenly rang out, startling Wharton.
"Olivier!"
Wharton saw who it was and was rather shocked. He had just been thinking about Olivier, yet in the blink of an eye, Olivier had appeared before him. Still, he quickly calmed down.
"Olivier, what are you doing here?"
Wharton knew he was no match for Olivier. It was better to clarify the situation first.
"The vast Baruch Kingdom—the most glorious clan of this era is yours." Olivier said, "Oh, I came to find Linley."
Wharton had two things he was proud of: Linley and the Baruch Kingdom. His strength was inferior to Linley's, but he had governed the Baruch Kingdom very well. Hearing Olivier's words, Wharton could not help feeling rather pleased with himself.
"What do you want with my eldest brother?"
Wharton could not help thinking that Olivier's strength had soared. Could he have come to harm Linley?
"Don't worry. I won't do anything to Linley."
Olivier said.
Wharton was unconvinced. You, Olivier, would have to be capable of it first.
"I'll take you to see my eldest brother tomorrow."
After considering it for a while, Wharton spoke to Olivier.
Olivier stayed in the royal palace.
The next day, they headed to Black Crow Mountain, where Linley cultivated.
Olivier remembered that Linley cultivated on a mountain, but he could not recall which mountain it was. Otherwise, there would have been no need to go to the Baruch royal palace.
There were quite a few people traveling with them. Besides Wharton, the five Undying Warrior brothers who normally lived in the Baruch Kingdom, Delia, Nina, and the three children had all come.
They guessed that Olivier's arrival certainly meant he would spar with Linley. Olivier could not possibly mean them harm, so they had all come to watch.
Taylor and Sasha were only seven or eight years old, and both were very adorable.
Olivier was even wondering whether he should have a child and arrange a marriage with Linley's family. Becoming in-laws with a future Controller seemed quite good.
"My father is the strongest!"
After Taylor got to know Olivier, he had teased him twice and learned Olivier's temperament. From then on, he kept insisting that his father was the strongest.
Black Crow Mountain had beautiful scenery.
They followed the stream forward and finally saw a curved lake in the distance.
There were already three flat boulders in the middle of the lake. The central boulder had been placed there by Linley long ago, and the stone house had naturally been built long before as well. The other two flat boulders had been prepared by Linley after his marriage for his relatives to stay on when they occasionally visited.
A pale blue figure sat cultivating in the center of the lake.
He was incomparably tranquil and natural, similar to Olivier's state when practicing Taiji Fist. Olivier finally understood why Linley deserved to be called a genius. This state of cultivation was very similar to his own.
"Father!" Taylor's delighted shout rang out from far away.
The pale blue figure turned around. It was Linley. Compared to the past, Linley merely carried an additional trace of maturity. Even from afar, his whole body seemed completely fused with nature.
Linley immediately stood up and smiled. "Haha, Taylor!"
Yet Linley's movement as he rose gave the impression that he might ride the wind away, while also carrying an impression of extreme steadiness. Those two completely opposite sensations fused into one. Without seeing him in person, one simply could not imagine it.
Linley waved his hand—
Boom! A portion of the flowing water suddenly stopped, condensing into a bridge of water. The rest of the water continued flowing. Taylor and Sasha were already familiar with this and ran straight across the "water bridge."
The water bridge was like a solid object.
Only upon careful observation could one notice tiny streams of air darting across the surface of the water bridge.
"Taylor, come here. Let me hold you." Linley happily scooped Taylor into his arms. Beside him, Sasha immediately looked at Linley with her pair of utterly pure eyes, and Linley promptly stretched out his hand and gathered his precious daughter into his embrace as well.
"Why have you all come?"
They normally came only once a month. Linley remembered that it had not even been half a month.
Taylor and Sasha both turned their gazes toward Olivier.
"Linley, it's been many years. Your son and daughter are already so grown. These two little ones are very cute. How about we become in-laws? Haha!"
Olivier spoke after Linley and his children had finished their affectionate reunion.
"Olivier, it has been a long time. I heard your strength has greatly advanced, and that you defeated Haydson with a casual move."
At that moment, Linley noticed Olivier. He seemed merged with nature, as though he did not exist at all—profound and unfathomable. Linley was somewhat shocked.
It seems I still underestimated Olivier, Linley thought.
"Haydson is not worth mentioning at all. Defeating him is nothing impressive. I believe you, Linley, could do it easily as well."
Olivier spoke casually.
There were only three truly formidable people on the Yulan Continent: Beirut, Linley, and Azure Fire.
Olivier suddenly wanted to discuss the heroes of the world over wine with Linley first. There was no rush to spar.
Servants prepared some wine and food, and the two began chatting. They discussed new developments in cultivation as well as sights and events from across the continent.
"Linley, let me tell you this: there are only a few people on the entire continent worthy of my regard, and you, Linley, are one of them."
Olivier recalled Cao Cao's words: "When discussing the heroes of the world, only you and I count."
Setting aside Beirut, the God-Eater Rat, as well as Azure Fire, who was still confined in Gobada Prison, those words truly suited Olivier's feelings at this moment.
"My father is definitely the strongest." Taylor could tell that Olivier was praising Linley and immediately chimed in.
"Oh? And who are the others?" Hearing Olivier speak of the continent's experts, Linley became quite interested. He also knew of many powerful figures and wanted to hear Olivier's opinion.
"The king of the Dark Forest, the king of assassins Cesar, and the guardian deity of the Yulan Empire, the High Priest." Linley had thought Olivier would list the god-level experts before naming a few Saint-level warriors, but Olivier showed no sign of continuing.
"What?" Linley asked curiously. The others were also extremely curious.
"The king of the Dark Forest for his peerless strength, Cesar for his free-spirited nature, and the High Priest for her kindness," Olivier said slowly.
Linley was somewhat surprised. Cesar had entered Olivier's eyes because of his free spirit, while the High Priest had done so because of her kindness.
"The War God, the king of the Magical Beast Mountain Range, and Rutherford are merely the lowest level of gods. We will surpass them soon enough."
Olivier continued, saying something that shocked Linley and the others even more.
"Olivier, why are you so certain that you can surpass them?"
Though shocked, Linley was also very curious. After all, many of the continent's Saint-level limit experts had been unable to break through for years. Although Linley felt that his own strength was likely not far from the Saint-level limit, he still could not understand Olivier's mindset.
"We have hearts that believe in ourselves and constantly strive to become stronger, don't we?" Olivier asked in return.
He could not say that he was a transmigrator who knew how the story would unfold.
