Nature and History
“Demon” was originally a mortal label, not a known true name. Rhode describes the being as an embodiment of chaos and disorder residing in the Abyss: it may answer rituals and grant power, but neither worship nor curses reliably sway it. He warns that even its silhouette or true name could be fatal or corrupting 35.
The Abyss is described as the Demon's Divine Kingdom. Its influence extends beyond that realm: worlds wholly under its control may develop connections or rifts to the Abyss, and the completely Fallen may ascend there 594 727. Its growing hold over the Myriad Spirit World prompts Sulu and Lady Radiance to form an alliance against it 708.
In the final conflict, the Demon defeats Lost God and Rogo and absorbs their authorities before facing Sulu, newly advanced to Spirit Dominator 757.
