"Captain Teach, we're about to enter the asteroid belt."

"The doctors unanimously hope to collect structural samples from some asteroids, using them to analyze information from the birth of the Solar System."

In the silent, empty expanse of space, a spaceship sped quietly onward. At five hundred meters long, it surpassed most aircraft carriers in length. Yet in the boundless cosmos, it was not even worth calling a speck of dust!

At least, compared to the "dust" they were approaching—the asteroid belt—it was insignificantly small.

That was right. Marshall Teach's spaceship had reached the asteroid belt located between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. The many doctors aboard were all eager to make a brief stop and collect asteroid soil and mineral samples for research.

Here, no matter the substance or the encounter, it would all be humanity's "first"!

Enough to be recorded in history—if humanity still had a future.

"Alright."

In the spaceship's main control room, the towering Teach nodded.

"I'm a historian as well. I'm very curious about what information those 'time capsules' have preserved."

Ahead of the spaceship lay an asteroid belt containing as many as 1.2 million asteroids. Like the eight planets, these asteroids orbited the Sun between Mars and Jupiter.

Though the chemical composition of their surfaces had been altered by intense solar radiation, their interiors were largely still untouched primordial material from the formation of planetesimals. This made every planetesimal a "time capsule"; by analyzing their structures, one could obtain quite a bit of information about the formation of the solar nebula.

"Thank you for your understanding, Captain."

The "first officer" piloting the spaceship gave Teach a salute.

There were more than three hundred crew members aboard this spaceship, all researchers who had steeled themselves and set out in order to witness the wider
