Background / History

Wu Wei was raised under the strict educational standards of his mother, Lin Shen, who intended for him to become at least as capable as she was. His father, Wu Tian, preferred that he live more freely and happily, creating a lasting divide in their approaches to parenting. Wu Wei ultimately chose neither path wholesale, insisting that his life and ambitions are his own choices. 33 38

His mother taught him specialized combat techniques during childhood. Though he considers much of the training forgotten, it was sufficient for him to overpower Li Long when his roommate attempted to harm him. 3

By 2222, Wu Wei was an eighteen-year-old student in Imperial Capital University’s School of Computer Science. He had already mastered undergraduate and graduate-level material, and professors largely allowed him to pursue his own studies. He chose computer science because he viewed artificial intelligence as one of the defining technologies of the future. 15 26

Despite his bluntness and self-regard, Wu Wei values reciprocity and a small number of close relationships.
