Speculations About Horcruxes
Augusta Longbottom and Neville were waiting here on purpose.
A dozen minutes earlier, Neville seemed to have misunderstood Kyle's meaning. Instead of going to find the healer, he went downstairs and started shouting that there were Werewolf and trying to get others to go upstairs to help.
No one believed him, even though they had just heard the noise coming from upstairs.
Werewolf don't appear during the day; this is basic common sense in the Wizarding World.
Moreover, this is St Mungo's's, a place teeming with talent, where there are plenty of people with mental problems. Just twenty minutes ago, someone claimed to be raising a dragon upstairs.
It's just a Werewolf, nothing to make a fuss about.
Besides, the therapists didn't believe the chubby boy with the round face either.
They were on the second floor because of someone else.
--The curly-haired intern therapist who led Kyle through the area was in the Werewolf's ward and witnessed the entire Werewolf transformation.
Fortunately, he wasn't bitten. Perhaps it was because the Werewolf had just transformed and was still confused, so it just casually slapped him into the wall.
Once he pulled himself out of the situation, he immediately contacted his colleagues in St Mungo's's unique way, telling them about the Werewolf.
That's why the scene described earlier happened.
Meanwhile, Augusta Longbottom, upon learning of this, hurriedly sought out Neville. After learning the details from her grandson, the old lady immediately tried to take Neville to express her gratitude.
However, they were too late. By the time the two found Kyle, he had just gone to the sixth floor with the Dean and Dumbledore.
Augusta Longbottom simply stood with Neville at the corner of the stairs and waited for them to come down.
Afterwards, Augusta Longbottom invited Kyle to a ward on the fifth floor.
Neville's parents were there, lying in their hospital beds, staring blankly at Kyle.
"You saved Neville, and they want to express their gratitude to you."
Augusta Longbottom turned to the hospital bed, her voice trembling slightly, and said, "Frank Longbottom, Alice Longbottom, the child is here."
But their eyes remained lifeless, as if they hadn't heard Augusta Longbottom's words at all.
"Child, don't mind them," Augusta Longbottom explained. "I can sense that they really want to thank you in person, but they just can't express it."
While Augusta Longbottom was speaking, Neville stood beside her, head bowed, seemingly fascinated by his own toes.
But this behavior greatly angered Augusta Longbottom.
"Lift your head, Neville!" she said sternly. "You shouldn't be ashamed of what your parents went through; you should be proud!"
"I didn't..." Neville retorted, his voice soft but firm.
Then Augusta Longbottom looked at Kyle, her back straight, and said proudly, "They were driven mad by the Death Eaters' Cruciatus Curse... Those stray dogs tried to force them to reveal the whereabouts of their masters, but they misjudged the situation. The Longbottom family never compromises with dark wizards!"
"Truly admirable..." Kyle said with deep respect.
"You too, child."
Augusta Longbottom said, "To defeat Werewolf at such a young age, very few people can do that."
I hope Neville will have that courage someday, and become an Auror after graduation, restoring the glory of the Longbottom family ..."
She turned her gaze to Neville, then suddenly frowned and said, "Straighten your back, Neville. I've told you so many times, straighten your back!"
Even after leaving the ward, Kyle could still clearly hear Augusta Longbottom scolding Neville.
He looked at Dean Sacia beside him and asked, "Can't the injuries caused by the Cruciatus Curse be healed?"
"This is difficult. Any problem involving the soul is difficult to cure. It's the same with Werewolf and the Cruciatus Curse."
Dean Sacia thought for a moment and said, "The Cruciatus Curse brings them not only physical injuries, but also the pain of their souls being torn apart."
A wizard's body is very fragile, much like trying to piece together a shattered mirror on a taut balloon; the slightest mistake and the balloon will burst.
All we can do now is piece together a rough mirror, and wait for a more effective solution to emerge while ensuring the balloon doesn't burst.
"Like Wolfsbane Potion?" Kyle said thoughtfully.
"That's right," Dean Sacia laughed. "What we've been waiting for is the ' Wolfsbane Potion ' that can break the Cruciatus Curse, and we've been working towards that goal."
Kyle didn't say anything more and silently walked forward.
After mentioning shattered souls, he suddenly thought of Horcrux.
Yes, Horcrux... the most evil Dark Magic artifacts in the world, invented by the Herpo the Foul.
Kyle remembered that to create Horcrux, the first thing to do was to split his own soul through killing before it could be placed into the Horcrux.
What if the soul is already in a split state from the beginning... then this step could be skipped?
Like the Longbottoms, whose souls were shattered by the Cruciatus Curse, wouldn't that perfectly fit the requirements for creating Horcrux?
Kyle fell into deep thought.
Since it's impossible to piece together a complete mirror from the balloon, why not just remove the fragments?
Horcrux are very special things; they are like an extra body, or a bridge, connecting broken souls.
What's even more interesting is that once this bridge is formed, each fragment of the soul will become relatively complete. This is why Voldemort didn't go insane even after destroying six Horcrux.
It is precisely because of this characteristic that it can enable a person to achieve immortality.
If that's the case, then could we also turn the shattered souls of the Longbottoms into Horcrux?
If we break the soul down into smaller parts, wouldn't we no longer need to worry about those fragments?
Of course, this was just one of Kyle's ideas.
The problem now is that he hasn't read any books about Horcrux, and his understanding of them is limited to the superficial things he remembers. He has no idea whether doing this is feasible.
Kyle glanced instinctively at Dumbledore was not far away.
The other person quickly noticed and gave him a questioning look.
Kyle quickly turned his gaze aside.
Ask Dumbledore?
Forget it. He figured the moment he uttered the word "Horcrux," the Elder Wand would smash him into the wall, and it would be embarrassing if he couldn't pry him out.
Since I can't ask, I'll just have to find it myself.
Kyle plans to look in the Restricted Section after school starts.
It's okay if you can't find it; there's another diary next year.
As for that Ravenclaw's Diadem in the Room of Requirement... to be honest, Kyle wouldn't want to touch that thing if he could.
It's too dangerous, and it won't do him any good either.
