Kyle and Professor Sprout walked together through the Entrance Hall, up the Marble Staircase, and then down a corridor.

Professor Sprout's office wasn't large, but it was filled with the fresh scent of earth, a warm fire burned in the fireplace, and lush vines climbed the walls. Various magical plants could be seen everywhere, making it look exactly like the greenhouse outside the castle.

Near the window, there was a small desk.

Professor Sprout walked to the table and pointed to a brown box placed on it.

"I received this package two days before the start of the semester. It was sent from the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, along with a letter saying it was to compensate for the damage to the Forbidden Forest."

At this point, Professor Sprout's expression suddenly became somewhat strange.

"But I remember that Minerva didn't seem to ask the Ministry of Magic for any compensation, so these things should be for you, right?"

"Ahem, yes, Professor."

Kyle said somewhat embarrassedly, "I did write to the Ministry of Magic, but that was at the request of the Hit Wizard."

They seemed to know that I had used some valuable magical items in the Forbidden Forest, which was why I barely survived Oren's clutches, so they generously decided to give me some compensation."

"Is that so?" Professor Sprout said with a smile.

"But the letter also said that they would soon send someone to build a new greenhouse for Hogwarts. Is that also what you requested?"

"Uh... this isn't it."

Kyle thought for a moment and said, "I only mentioned in the letter that too much Dark Magic had been cast in the Forbidden Forest, and many precious magical plants and trees that are hundreds of years old have been destroyed."

They probably wanted to compensate the school in this way.

Professor Sprout's expression became even stranger; her face flushed slightly, and she subconsciously glanced out the window.

She knew exactly what plants were in the Forbidden Forest.

Most of the rare and precious plants had already been moved to the greenhouse; what remained were at most some common varieties like Dittany or Puffapod.

As for those so-called century-old trees... to be honest, after the Hit Wizard left, she and Filius restored the damaged Forbidden Forest to its original state in just five minutes.

After all, the Corrosion Curse isn't exactly a sophisticated form of Dark Magic; a Finite Incantatem Destruction could easily resolve it.

Professor Sprout cleared his throat and said righteously, "Yes, it's a real pity about those plants. It's rare that the Ministry of Magic thought of this and knew to build a new greenhouse to protect them."

She seemed pleased and said in a light tone, "Then, you can take stock of their compensation here and see if anything is missing."

But remember to hurry, I think the Sorting Ceremony should be starting soon."

After saying this, Professor Sprout left the office, closing the door behind him.

After she left, Kyle went to the table and opened the box.

There weren't many items inside; about half of them were neatly arranged Galleon, numbering around fifty, with the word "broom" written next to them.

While in the Forbidden Forest, Kyle did throw a broom, which was later smashed in two by a falling tree during a battle, rendering it completely useless.

It's likely that the Ministry of Magic couldn't find such an old model, so they simply cashed it out.

Kyle put Galleon aside.

The brooms were school property, so those Galleon were none of his concern; the rest was the important thing.

After removing the Galleon, only five tightly sealed glass bottles remained in the box.

It was filled with seeds.

--The seeds of a miraculous plant.

Their names are also written on the bottles.

"Biting Cabbage"

"Mandrake"

Monkshood

"Venomous Tentacula"

"Venomous Tentacula"

Kyle picked up the bottles and carefully put them into his Mokeskin Pouch.

He felt a sense of relief.

To make things seem more plausible, he reported these things as "loss of plants," which is why the Ministry of Magic sent the items to Hogwarts.

After all, almost all of these plants are classified as "extremely dangerous," especially the Biting Cabbage and Venomous Tentacula, which are prohibited from trade and are explicitly forbidden by the Ministry of Magic from being privately cultivated and sold.

Before this, Kyle wasn't really sure either; to put it bluntly, he was gambling that the professor who received the package would open it.

If the greenhouse is opened, these seeds will only be able to grow in the newly built greenhouse.

Fortunately, Kyle was lucky.

Professor Sprout didn't care much about anything except the plants in the greenhouse.

After putting away the bottles, Kyle breathed a heavy sigh of relief.

He is now genuinely grateful to the Ministry of Magic for keeping the packaging so secure.

Getting these seeds right under the nose of a botanical expert must be quite thrilling.

After leaving Professor Sprout's office, Kyle came down the stairs and returned to the Great Hall.

The new students had arrived, and the Great Hall had become a sea of pointed black hats, with students sitting at every long college table.

In front of the High Table sat the old, worn-out Sorting Hat, which had some additional features compared to last year.

A red and blue cloth, which looked like either a tea towel or a headscarf, was wrapped around the tip of the hat. In addition, there was a small pair of sunglasses on the brim of the hat.

When Kyle arrived at the Great Hall, it was singing.

The Sorting Hat looked very excited, wriggling around on its triangular stool, and the tone it used was completely different from traditional Wizarding World music.

"...

Hogwarts truly is a school; the magic taught there is absolutely amazing.

Gryffindor possess courage, boldness, and a fearlessness in the face of hardship and danger.

Hufflepuff is an honest person who is not afraid of hard work, and the students are resilient and honest.

The Ravenclaw are clever and quick-witted; they search for secrets in books and explore the meaning of magic.

Perhaps you'll join Slytherin. They are calm and meticulous, and they won't be polite to anyone in order to achieve their goal of glory.

Come on, take me with you, don't be afraid.

One last thing, my name is the Sorting Hat.

"Where will I be assigned...? Stop messing around."

After the Sorting Hat finished singing, the entire Great Hall erupted in cheers, with the young wizards applauding so loudly it seemed like they were about to lift the ceiling off.

Kyle turned to the other side and walked toward Hufflepuff's dining table.

Cedric saved him a seat, right between him and Mikel.

"Kyle, you should have come sooner," Cedric said regretfully. "The Sorting Hat's music is completely different from what it was a few years ago."

"Yes, I just heard that," Kyle said with a smile.

It looks like the Sorting Hat received the Christmas gift he gave her last year.

He just hadn't expected that Hogwarts would still be able to play those tapes.
