The Fighting Incident
As the most popular sport at Hogwarts, Quidditch has always been extremely popular.
The qualifying rounds had barely ended when news spread that Kyle had scored 21 goals in 10 minutes.
In the following days, everyone was talking about it.
Some were shocked, some were excited, and some were skeptical.
"This is so fake."
At the Slytherin table, Zabini said with a disdainful look, "While I admit that Kyle has some skill, and his maps are passable enough to satisfy me, he's far from being Quidditch."
Scoring twenty-one goals in ten minutes? Even I can't do that, how could he possibly do it?!
"Are you saying you're better Kyle?" Malfoy glanced at him sideways.
You don't believe me?
Zabini said with a smug look, "My fifth father was a professional Quidditch player. He said I was a once-in-a-century Quidditch genius, and if I wanted to, countless professional teams would be vying to have me join them right after graduation."
Upon hearing this, many people around subconsciously twitched the corners of their mouths.
Mrs. Zabini was a very beautiful witch in the Wizarding World. She was married seven times, and each of her husbands died mysteriously, leaving behind a large inheritance.
"I've heard that kind of talk before, and more than once," Malfoy scoffed.
He had known for a long time that such words were nothing more than insincere flattery, but he never expected that anyone would actually take them seriously.
"It's true, he would never lie to me!" Zabini said, his neck stiff.
"In that case..." Malfoy glanced at him, "Why don't you apply to join the academy team?"
"What nonsense are you talking about, Draco? I'm only a first-year student; I can't play Quidditch."
"But Bo..."
Malfoy was about to retort when he suddenly shut his mouth.
He clearly already knew that Harry Potter had joined the team, and the thought of it always made him very unhappy.
What's even more upsetting is that this outcome was caused by him.
The thought of Harry Potter and Weasley's faces that morning made Malfoy feel as disgusted as if he had eaten Cockroach Cluster.
If he had known it would turn out like this, he would never have snatched that big oaf's Remembrall.
But Zabini was unaware of this; he still thought Malfoy had admitted to what he had just said, and immediately changed his tune, confidently declaring, "Just you wait and see, next year I'll definitely join the team and teach that Kyle a lesson."
"But Draco... you definitely won't make the team."
He suddenly looked at Malfoy and mocked, "I've seen you play with Broomstick before, but let me tell you, you weren't even as fast as my grandma walking."
Malfoy's face flushed red. He was Quidditch genius who had narrowly escaped Muggle helicopters on numerous occasions; when had he ever been insulted like this?
"Hmph..."
Malfoy turned his head and asked in a drawn-out tone, "Which grandmother are you referring to, the third? Or the seventh...?"
Zabini's face turned red; he hated it when people brought this up.
"How dare you! I'll make you pay!"
In a fit of rage, he raised his fist and slammed it down on Malfoy's face.
"Bang!"
"Ah..."
Malfoy, clutching his face after being punched, screamed in disbelief, "Damn it, how dare you hit me! Even my father has never hit me!"
What are you all standing there for? Attack! I'm going to kill him!
At Malfoy's command, his two henchmen Crabbe and Goyle immediately rushed over.
The two men were at least half a head taller than their peers, and with their burly builds, they quickly took down the skinny Zabini and began to beat him mercilessly.
Malfoy stood up, about to kick them a couple more times, when Professor McGonagall appeared beside them.
"Fight?"
Professor McGonagall's expression was very serious. She casually used her wand to separate the three people who were rolling around on the ground.
"Nothing so terrible has ever happened at Hogwarts."
"Malfoy insulted me first, Professor!" Zabini mumbled in his defense.
His face was swollen from being beaten by Crabbe and Goyle, and he had lost several teeth, so he spoke with a slight lisp.
"Keep that to Professor Snape; he's the one who decides how to punish you."
Professor McGonagall said sternly, "Now, all four of you, come with me!"
"Excuse me, Professor... perhaps I misheard you. Did you say four people?"
Malfoy suddenly stepped forward, covering his face with an innocent expression, and mumbled, "Everyone here can testify that I didn't fight, and I'm the victim."
"You heard me right, Mr. Malfoy."
Professor McGonagall gave him a calm look. "Come with me... don't make me say it twice."
Malfoy dared not say anything more, and could only lower his head and carefully follow Professor McGonagall out of the Great Hall.
Seeing his disheveled appearance, Harry Potter was so excited he almost jumped up.
"Look, Ron! Malfoy's in for a world of trouble!"
Ron, holding a chicken leg, said gleefully, "Serves him right! He should have been punished long ago!"
The two danced around for a while, seemingly more excited about Malfoy's misfortune than about the points they would earn for the school.
In short, the Slytherin incident did not dampen the enthusiasm of others for Quidditch.
Especially the Hufflepuff.
Harris has been acting like he's drunk some kind of expired Potions lately. Whether in the common room or in class, he keeps bursting into laughter for no reason, which frightens the people around him.
One day on his way to class, he ran into Oliver Wood from Gryffindor in the hallway. Coincidentally, they were both grinning at each other when they met.
"It's Oliver Wood! Hello, hello!"
"Nice to meet you, Harris."
The two greeted each other warmly, as if they were old friends who hadn't seen each other in a long time.
What class are you going to?
"History of Magic, and you?"
"Pretty much, I'm Defense Against the Dark Arts."
That's about right.
After exchanging a few pleasantries, the two suddenly asked at the same time, "What were you laughing at just now?"
After asking the question, they both fell silent.
"Uh, you know that."
After a brief silence, Oliver Wood spoke first, "My owl has had a second litter, new life... What a wonderful thing! Every time I think about it, I feel a deep joy."
"I'm about the same as you."
Harris calmly said, "My owl found its other half at school, such a beautiful love story... I'm truly happy for it."
"I see," Oliver Wood said in surprise. "Then congratulations!"
"Haha, congratulations to you too!" Harris quickly replied.
The two then fell silent again, each silently cursing the other's shamelessness.
