Catwoman Hermione
After leaving the Headmaster's Office on the Seventh Floor, Kyle cheerfully greeted every portrait he passed.
Hogwarts was indeed full of surprises. Who would have thought that on this ordinary Christmas, he would not only see the legendary Ashes of Nirvana, but also receive a small bottle of them?
It feels like a dream.
Kyle didn't know how often Fawkes would be reborn, but it certainly wouldn't be a short time... Dumbledore's eyes turned red; it was the first time Kyle had ever seen him so distraught.
Furthermore, Newt's * Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them * doesn't specify a particular time when the phoenix rises from the ashes. This means that from the time he wrote the book until now, Fawkes has not experienced a phoenix-like rebirth.
If that's the case, then the interval between Fawkes's rebirth must be at least sixty years...
Of course, this refers to time under normal conditions; special cases like ingesting Killing Curse are not included.
Kyle couldn't resist taking out the small bottle again and examining it closely under the dim light...
At least sixty years, a small handful of ashes... This can be said to be the most precious material in the Wizarding World, bar none.
Legend has it that the ashes left behind after the phoenix's rebirth contain both death and new life, something that countless alchemists and Potions Master dream of.
Kyle even suspected that the Resurrection Stone, one of the Deathly Hallows, might have used the ashes of the phoenix's rebirth.
If you have the chance, you could look into it.
Kyle glanced back at the dripping stone beast at the entrance of the Headmaster's Office, then subconsciously quickened his pace, jogging all the way down the stairs.
When he arrived on the first floor, he ran into two acquaintances in the Entrance Hall.
"Harry, Ron?"
Kyle greeted them and asked, "What are you doing here so late?"
The two were startled and quickly turned around, looking at Kyle had suddenly appeared with tense expressions.
"Can't sleep... so I'm going out for a walk..."
"You... what are you doing here!"
The two clung tightly to each other, as if they'd been caught out of the dark.
"Oh, I just came from the Headmaster's Office," Kyle said casually. "But aren't you guys wearing the wrong clothes? They're so big... wait, that tail..."
"What tail? You must be mistaken... haha..." Harry stammered.
Ron nodded eagerly, "That's right. You must have been too tired from reading."
Despite the freezing weather, they were sweating profusely.
Something's not right... These two practically have a guilty conscience written all over their faces.
Kyle suddenly looked up and said in surprise, "Professor McGonagall, what brings you here?"
"Professor McGonagall!"
"Ah!"
Harry and Ron turned around at the same time, but the next second, they found that there was no one behind them at all.
But then Kyle saw what was hiding behind them... a large, furry, tan-colored head, which looked like... a cat?
When Kyle called out Professor McGonagall's name, she was also startled and instinctively looked up.
It's confirmed, it's a cat, but its body is human, and it's wearing the same ill-fitting, oversized robe.
Kyle looked her over carefully, then asked uncertainly, "Hermione?"
"Ah!" the other person exclaimed, quickly covering their face.
Kyle looked at Harry and Ron.
The two sighed, which was taken as tacit agreement.
An ill-fitting school uniform, plus Hermione transformed into a cat...
Kyle couldn't help but ask, "Could she have drunk some kind of Polyjuice Potion with cat hair in it?"
The two remained silent once again.
After a moment, Ron asked in a low voice, "Do you have any ideas?"
"The Homorphus Charm should work," Kyle thought for a moment and said, "Lockhart mentioned it in * Wandering with Werewolves *, but I don't know it. If you'd like, perhaps you could ask Lockhart if he remembers the spell..."
"Lockhart?" Harry's eyelids twitched, then he immediately shook his head. "Is there any other way?"
"Another way..." Kyle frowned. "I'm not sure if it will work. Never mind, let's get her to the Hospital Wing first. Madam Pomfrey will definitely have a way."
"Oh well."
Harry and Ron nodded, covered Hermione again, and headed towards the Hospital Wing.
Fortunately, it was a holiday, and it was already quite late, so apart from Kyle, they didn't encounter anyone else along the way.
"It's very troublesome..."
In the Hospital Wing, Madam Pomfrey carefully examined Hermione's condition, then raised her head with a grave expression.
"Didn't Professor Snape teach you that Polyjuice Potion cannot target animal Transfiguration?"
"We don't know...it's animal hair..." Ron stammered.
He and Harry were prepared to confess, whether it was stealing from Snape's private storeroom or secretly brewing Polyjuice Potion.
The most important thing now is to restore Hermione to her former self; as for what punishment they will receive in the future, that's no longer our concern.
"How reckless... how careless..." Madam Pomfrey said angrily, "You don't even know what the ingredients of the Potions are, yet you dare to drink it? You're really lucky to be alive."
She berated Harry and Ron, but didn't ask them where their Polyjuice Potion came from, nor what they wanted to do with it.
Then Madam Pomfrey took out her wand and tapped Hermione a few times.
Large patches of hair fell out, but even more remained on her body.
"She will need at least five weeks of treatment here to recover."
Madam Pomfrey waved her hand, signaling everyone to leave. "Now, you should go back."
"We can see it here..."
"No!"
Harry was refused before he could finish speaking; no matter the reason, Madam Pomfrey would not allow them to stay.
Left with no other choice, the two said goodbye to Hermione and left the Hospital Wing, turning back to look at her every few steps.
"Why are you still here?" Madam Pomfrey then looked at Kyle, who showed no sign of leaving.
"Madam Pomfrey," Kyle asked, "I'd like to know if Mandrake leaves would be effective against this kind of Transfiguration caused by Potions."
"Mandrake?"
"I read about it in a book," Kyle said. "Someone used Mandrake leaves to restore people who had been turned into octopuses to their original form."
"Don't tell me it's Lockhart's book."
Kyle nodded.
In fact, he saw it in the book "Holidays with Hags".
"The combination of Mandrake and Monkshood can indeed be used to restore appearances altered by curses or Transfiguration."
Madam Pomfrey said earnestly, "But what's needed to concoct the Mandrake Restorative Draught isn't leaves, but the sap of mature Mandrake."
"Mandrake Restorative Draught?"
"That's right." Madam Pomfrey glanced at the two hospital beds in the corner. "These can also be used to treat those who have been petrified."
Kyle nodded in realization... So Lockhart didn't understand the story and made up his own recipe.
If that's the case, then there's nothing that can be done.
Although the seeds given by the Ministry of Magic last time happened to include Mandrake and Monkshood, they were all in the Room of Requirement on the Seventh Floor, meaning they weren't mature yet.
It takes about a year for Mandrake seed to germinate and grow facial features, and this is only a seedling; it takes another year to mature.
Monkshood is even slower... Like the Venomous Tentacula, it takes at least three years to mature.
