Prophecy
Kyle was naturally very happy to get a perfect score without having to take an exam.
Although it's a pity about the book "Advanced Potion-Making," Kyle had already read it three times, and his notes had long been copied into a new book, so it wouldn't matter if he returned it to Snape.
By the third day of exam week, only the last two courses remained.
Kyle set off early in the morning for the North Tower rooftop to prepare for his Divination Class exam.
There's a trick to Divination Class: even if you've never read a book and know nothing about it, you can still get a high score as long as your predictions satisfy Professor Trelawney.
Kyle leaned down and gazed at the crystal ball.
"What did you see..." Professor Trelawney asked, her face stern, clearly displeased that Kyle hadn't attended class for a whole semester.
Perhaps if he were given a very low score, he would understand how important Divination is... Professor Trelawney thought to herself.
"Hmm..." Kyle pressed his nose against the crystal ball, "I see a figure..."
"What does it resemble?" Professor Trelawney asked softly. "Think about it..."
"He's very tall, and he has a beard..."
"It's Professor Dumbledore!" Kyle said with certainty.
"Principal!" Professor Trelawney murmured, somewhat surprised.
"Yes, it was Professor Dumbledore," Kyle said softly. "He looked very disheveled, walking hunched over down a street... There were houses on both sides, but no one opened the door for him; everyone chased him out."
"Are you sure, my dear?" Professor Trelawney eagerly jotted down on the parchment, "Is it really Headmaster Dumbledore you saw?"
"I'm sure, Professor."
Kyle said definitively, "He looks like an unwanted poisonous spider."
"Alright, darling, that's enough... Incredible... You have a real talent for Seer."
Professor Trelawney said happily, "But Divination is a profound subject; talent alone is not enough. Remember to come to class in the future."
Kyle smiled and nodded, then stood up to leave, but suddenly heard a loud, piercing sound behind him.
"Tonight..."
Kyle turned around and saw Professor Trelawney sitting upright in her armchair, her eyes glazed over and her mouth agape.
Her eyes were darting around, and her whole body was twitching unconsciously. The crystal ball on the table was shining faintly, reflecting her image.
At this moment, Professor Trelawney spoke again, in that same shrill voice.
"The Dark Lord lay there all alone, his deepest secrets discovered."
Tonight, the Dark Lord begins his journey to death... but will rise again... with his... most powerful... weapon...
Professor Trelawney's head drooped to her chest, making a gurgling sound, and then, quite suddenly, she lifted her head up again.
"I'm sorry, my dear child," she said absentmindedly, "It was so hot, you know, I took a nap..."
"Yes, Professor, you're exhausted," Kyle said with a smile.
He glanced at the crystal ball on the table. "Professor, I suddenly realize you were right. In order to practice Divination more often, could I buy this crystal ball... or borrow it for a vacation?"
Professor Trelawney seemed a little confused, but nodded nonetheless. "If it's just for borrowing... of course, but remember to return it; the crystal ball is very expensive."
"No problem, Professor." Kyle picked up the crystal ball from the table. "I'll bring it over next semester, and it'll be as good as new."
Kyle was still looking at the crystal ball in his hand as he walked down the stairs...
Professor Trelawney just made a genuine Prophecy, and the crystal ball recorded everything perfectly.
But what does that mean?
Voldemort's biggest secret is probably the Horcrux. With his diary destroyed, he began his path to death, which is easy to understand.
But what is that most powerful weapon...? Kyle considered many possibilities.
But he put the crystal ball away five minutes later.
Prophecy are just things to listen to, but you should never take them too seriously. Voldemort believed in that Prophecy, which led to his current predicament... a cautionary tale.
In the afternoon, Kyle completed his final History of Magic exam on the third floor.
Inside the castle, people chatted and laughed as they walked toward the grounds, eager to enjoy that long-awaited moment of freedom.
Kyle was also about to go to Hagrid's place, but he had only taken a few steps when someone suddenly called out to him.
"Kyle... do you have time?"
It was Lockhart, standing in the doorway of his office.
"Is there something you need, Professor?" Kyle asked.
"Nothing much, just a few things I'm really interested in." Lockhart opened the office door. "Come in, don't worry, it won't take up too much of your time."
"Okay." Kyle nodded in agreement.
The office walls are covered with countless framed photos, all of Lockhart's self-portraits, some even bearing his signature.
There was also a large stack of photos on the table.
"Sit down." He gestured to a soft, large chair. "Would you like something to drink? Tea, whiskey... I think it's fine to have a little whiskey now and then; at least here, no one else will know."
"No need, Professor, I can do it myself." Kyle tapped the table three times with his fingers and clearly called out, "Lemonade."
This was a method he learned from Professor Dumbledore: knocking on the table three times would allow him to communicate with the kitchen.
Soon, a large glass of lemonade appeared in front of Kyle.
"Oh!" Lockhart looked somewhat surprised.
"That's amazing," he said. "I dare say that among young wizards your age, no one is better than you."
"It's just a little trick for getting food from the kitchen," Kyle said. "Professor, you certainly can too."
"Of course, I knew that when I first arrived." Lockhart flashed his gleaming teeth. "Although the whiskey provided by the school is rather mediocre, it's nice to change things up once in a while."
Kyle nodded, without telling him that the kitchen did not serve any alcoholic beverages.
"Professor, what brings you here?"
"I almost forgot about the important matter," Lockhart said, sitting down opposite Kyle with interest. "I'm very interested in what happened to you in that Chamber of Secrets and would like to include it in my new book."
"Could you tell me the details of what happened, including how you discovered the Chamber of Secrets... how you encountered the Four Founders...?"
Lockhart exclaimed excitedly, "Characters from a thousand years ago reappearing at Hogwarts! My God, I have a feeling this is absolutely my best work, and our names will be known throughout the entire Wizarding World..."
"Am I still in that book?" Kyle asked in surprise.
"Of course, you are the most important part," Lockhart said softly.
"But I already said that in the Headmaster's Office," Kyle frowned. "You were there too."
"What I need are details; these are essential experiences."
Lockhart patiently said, "Alright, I'll ask, and you just need to answer."
First, what were your thoughts after discovering the Chamber of Secrets?
"Unbelievable, isn't it? You're shocked..." Kyle thought for a moment and then said.
"What was your first reaction when you saw that Basilisk?"
"Unbelievable, isn't it? It's shocking..."
"What happens after the Four Founders appear?"
"Inconceivable..."
"Change it!"
"Okay, that's a pleasant surprise."
