Lupin's Departure or Stay
Fudge didn't stay in the Headmaster's Office for long; he quickly left with the two unconscious Death Eaters.
About half an hour later, the Dementor stationed around Hogsmeade also received orders and withdrew from the castle.
There couldn't be better news.
Although most students were unaware of what had happened, that didn't stop them from celebrating the banishment of those annoying guys, and the whole castle was filled with a joyful atmosphere.
The day before the holiday, Kyle went to the Hospital Wing to visit Professor Lupin was still recuperating.
Harry and his friends were there too, with a large black dog crouching beside them... Madam Pomfrey stood to the side, scrutinizing them with a critical gaze.
She couldn't understand why the principal would allow students to bring their pets here.
Professor Lupin lay in his hospital bed, his entire body wrapped in bandages, looking like a moving mummy.
Sirius, supporting himself on his hind legs, lay beside the hospital bed, sticking out his tongue at him with a fawning expression.
Seeing Professor Lupin's expression, Kyle felt a little embarrassed.
Strictly speaking, Professor Lupin's current state is also related to him.
That night, after Fawkes brought the Werewolf and the Devil's Snare to the Headmaster's Office, he tossed him aside.
Perhaps because the story of Black and Peter was too captivating, and because the Werewolf, whose mouth was gagged by the Devil's Snare and unable to make a sound, was simply forgotten in a corner.
It wasn't until the early hours of the next day that the exhausted Werewolf transformed back into Professor Lupin and fell into a coma before finally breaking free of the Devil's Snare and crashing to the floor with a thud.
It was this sound that excited Sirius Black, who couldn't sleep all night and was looking out the window dreaming about his future life, to realize that his old friend was still there.
After being entangled all night, even though his Werewolf form was tough enough, Professor Lupin had broken several bones when he was taken to the Hospital Wing. He was extremely weak and has not recovered since.
When Kyle walked into the Hospital Wing, he overheard Harry asking him about the big news circulating in the castle.
"I just ran into Malfoy ..." Harry said anxiously, "He said you're Werewolf and will be expelled from school, is that true?"
"Of course it's fake." Lupin smiled. "I resigned voluntarily; I wasn't fired."
"Why?" Harry asked, "Just because you're Werewolf?"
"Isn't that enough?" Lupin asked calmly.
"But apart from us, no one else should know your identity..."
"No, Harry!" Lupin shook his head. "There are plenty of smart students like Kyle and Hermione at school; they should have guessed who I am by now."
"It must have been Malfoy who spread it, and Snape too..." Harry said angrily. "Hermione said he kept revealing that you were Werewolf when he was substituting for students."
"That doesn't matter anymore, Harry."
Lupin smiled and said, "In the afternoon, the owl will deliver letters from the parents... They won't want a Werewolf to teach their children... At least most parents wouldn't."
"And after what happened last night, I think they were right. I might bite you... This must never happen again."
"You could try planting the Devil's Snare in your office..." Ron tentatively suggested. "I think that should get most people to agree to you staying."
Upon hearing Ron's words, Lupin felt his recently recovered injuries begin to ache again.
Just then, Kyle arrived at the bedside.
"Ron's suggestion is good." He placed a large box of Honeydukes candies on the nearby cabinet and said with a smile, "If you need it, I can lend you that Devil's Snare."
"Let's forget it," Lupin quickly shook his head. "I can't take it a few more times. But Kyle, why do you carry such a dangerous plant with you...?"
"It was just a coincidence," Kyle said vaguely. "Besides, I think the Devil's Snare is pretty safe."
Compared to the other plants in the box, the Devil's Snare is the most harmless, only slightly higher in status than ornamental plants like Dittany and Rue.
Seeing that Kyle didn't want to talk about it, Lupin didn't ask any further and instead said, "I heard everything from Sirius. I thank you on his behalf."
The big dog next to them also looked over with a grateful expression.
"I was just offering an idea," Kyle waved his hand. "Besides, it's too early for Xie. Let's wait until he's been completely exonerated."
"What are you talking about?" Harry looked at them suspiciously. "Sirius is alright now?"
"It's nothing," Lupin shook his head, offering no explanation.
This matter is currently under wraps and is not suitable for Harry to know. After spending nearly a year together, Lupin has also discovered that the boy is simply unable to keep secrets.
So no matter how much Harry asked, he wouldn't say.
Having no other choice, Harry could only suppress his doubts and change the subject.
So where are you going next?
"I don't know," Lupin sighed. "Werewolf have a hard time finding work..."
Sirius was pawing at its front paws, appearing extremely excited.
He wanted to tell Lupin that he could stay at his house after leaving Hogwarts.
But Lupin didn't even look at him, and said to himself, "Maybe it's the Wizarding Examinations Authority... because NEWT just happened to have the Patronus Charm exam this year, and the students' pass rate was exceptionally high, so Professor Marchbanks approached me once and specifically asked if I wanted to go to the Wizarding Examinations Authority."
"But I'm not sure if she knows my identity, and it would be very difficult for a Werewolf to get into the Ministry of Magic."
Harry looked somewhat disappointed.
"Cheer up, it's alright," Lupin laughed. "I'm used to it, and I'll be getting my last month's salary from the school anyway, which should last me a while."
"If you're interested, you can go and have a look at Romania," Kyle suddenly said.
"What?" Lupin looked at him.
"The Dragon Sanctuary," Kyle said. "Nobody there cares if you're Werewolf or not."
"Really?" Lupin's eyes lit up, and he asked incredulously, "Aren't they afraid?"
"Do you really think a bunch of guys who deal with Dragon and dark wizards every day would be afraid of Werewolf?"
Kyle said, "Besides, this is actually an advantage for you. A Werewolf who has drunk the Wolfsbane Potion can do a lot of things, and having a Werewolf around can also scare away some ill-intentioned people."
I heard they had hired a few Werewolf before, but because most of them were wicked and couldn't resist the temptation of the dragon eggs, they were quickly fired."
Lupin lowered his head in thought.
Sirius pawed at the ground even faster, but no one paid him any attention.
Kyle continued, "Although it might be tough for you there, especially during the full moon, and you might even have to face those Dragon alone, the salary for a dragon tamer is still quite considerable..."
Lupin fell into thought again.
He didn't mind the hard work; he wasn't afraid of facing the Dragon. And the high salary was an irresistible temptation.
The only thing that made him hesitate was the distance.
Seeing that Sirius was about to be exonerated, he had so much to say to the other party and really didn't want to travel so far at this crucial time.
Forget it, I'll worry about it for now while I still have some gold coins in my pocket.
Lupin decided to wait until the truth about Sirius came to light before looking for a job.
