Every Cup of Wine is a Cheering Potion (Thanks to the Ally Deep and Endless, 15 extra chapters)
With Dumbledore's help, Sirius finally stood up and slowly walked towards the door.
With the retrial concluded, everything that had happened here spread like wildfire throughout the entire Ministry of Magic.
Therefore, when Sirius walked out of the third courtroom, the corridor was already full of people, who looked at him and generously gave him their applause.
Sirius didn't even know how he walked down that long corridor, how he got on the elevator, or how he passed through the equally thunderous applause-filled lobby.
It seemed like a few minutes had passed, or maybe several hours, before I came to my senses and found myself in the bustling streets of London.
He stood with his arms outstretched towards the sky for a full ten minutes, amidst the astonished gazes of passersby.
Dumbledore and Kyle behind him did not urge him on.
Kyle was wondering if he should buy something on his way to Diagon Alley when he looked up and found Dumbledore staring at him with a strange look.
It was a look of apology mixed with pity, but it vanished in the blink of an eye.
Seeing Dumbledore's smiling face, Kyle didn't think much of it, assuming that he had been in the dimly lit trial room for too long and was just seeing things.
After all, Dumbledore had played a significant role in Sirius Black's acquittal, so there was no reason for him to feel apologetic.
Kyle looked at Sirius again; he was still standing there in the same position, as if he could stand there all day if no one called him.
At that moment, a man in a suit and tie seemed to take his actions as some kind of performance art. He hurriedly walked past, then turned back and placed a coin on the steps in front of him.
A few minutes later, an owl flew over their heads.
Suddenly, Dumbledore had a copy of the Daily Prophet in his hand. He found a bench by the roadside, sat down, and started reading the newspaper like an old man taking a stroll.
The front page featured a line of large, eye-catching text.
Sirius Black, a traitor or a tragic hero?
Below are two photos: one is his arrest warrant, and the other is a scene in the courtroom where everyone is applauding him.
In this article, Sirius is portrayed as a tragic figure who endured twelve years of darkness in order to avenge his friend...
"When did they take these photos?" Kyle asked in surprise. "I don't remember there being anyone with a camera in the courtroom at the time..."
"Obviously they exist, we just haven't discovered them yet."
Dumbledore chuckled and said, "These people are really resourceful. Back then, someone even released photos of me fighting with others when I was a child, just to prove I was an old fraud... If I could, I'd really like to buy that photo..."
"Let's not talk about that anymore. Let's go to Diagon Alley first. I'm kind of craving their hazelnut and peanut ice cream."
Dumbledore got up and went over.
Sirius opened his eyes, lowered his slightly sore arm, took a few deep breaths of London's exhaust fumes, and then turned to walk with them toward the Leaky Cauldron.
But after taking only two steps, he turned back, picked up the coin from the ground, and carefully wiped the dust off.
"So this is Muggle money, right?"
Kyle nodded and leaned over to take a look.
"A heptagon... This is a fifty-pence coin, which can probably be exchanged for two Sickle in Gringotts."
"I plan to keep it as a souvenir," Sirius said with a smile as he put the coin away.
The three of them made their way to the Leaky Cauldron.
When Dumbledore was walking at the front, pushed open the door, the noisy commotion inside immediately stopped.
Everyone's eyes were fixed on Sirius was following behind him.
It's unclear who started it, but another round of applause broke out, and some people stood up and came over to hug Sirius.
"Oh, Black ..." Old Tom came over with a large mug of Butterbeer. "Forgive me for keeping your wanted poster up all this time, this is on you."
"Thank you, Tom." Sirius took the cup and drank it all in one gulp.
He had drunk a lot of Butterbeer, including quite a few that Lupin had brought back for him a couple of months ago, but none of them tasted as sweet as this one today.
"That's really good." He licked his lips. "Tom, I suspect you put Cheering Potion in it..."
Old Tom chuckled. "Believe me, every drink you have from now on will be Cheering Potion."
A burst of laughter erupted from the bar.
He then declined invitations to drink with more people and went to Diagon Alley through the backyard entrance.
"How are you feeling?" Kyle asked.
"It couldn't be better," Sirius said with a laugh. "Old Tom said he'd treat me to drinks for a month, and I'm planning to come back tomorrow and drink here all day. Old Tom's expression will be priceless."
Kyle smiled but didn't say anything.
It just goes to show that Sirius is still too young. He's the hottest topic right now, and if he shows up at the Leaky Cauldron, he'll definitely attract a huge crowd. Old Tom will be overjoyed.
However, this is a win-win situation...
The three of them turned a corner and arrived at the Diagon Alley.
Sirius was like a freshman about to start school the next day, wanting to go into almost every store. Before long, his arms were full of all sorts of different things.
The shop owner gave them to me; they didn't cost me a single Knut.
Thanks to him, Kyle and Dumbledore also got free hazelnut and peanut ice cream.
They first went to Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions to have a brand new robe made for Sirius, and then went to Ollivander to buy a wand for fifteen Galleon.
The wands that freshmen buy cost seven Galleon, and this one cost more than twice as much, or rather, this is the original price of the wand. The ones sold to freshmen are basically at cost price.
When passing by the Quality Quidditch Supplies, Sirius even went in to buy Kyle Firebolt as a thank you gift.
However, Kyle refused.
"Don't mention it, it's nothing." Sirius patted his chest. "I bought one for Harry before, it was very cheap."
Kyle shook his head again, "No need, I really don't need it."
There are no Quidditch Match Hogwarts this year, so what would he need a Firebolt for? Besides, what if they release a new one next year...?
So let's wait until next year to talk about it.
They spent the entire afternoon browsing through almost every shop... oh, with one exception.
Flourish and Blotts.
The entrance to the shop seemed to be protected by Sirius Banishing Charm; he didn't hesitate for a second and ran past it.
The shop owner, who had received the news, was standing at the door with a stack of books, ready to give them to him as a gift, but he only saw the back of the shopkeeper rushing past.
