Who is the Godson After All? (Deep and Endless Alliance Leader Bonus Chapter, 25)
Neville had always thought Harry only had his aunt and uncle, and he had previously said that the two of them treated him very badly, even refusing to sign his application to go to Hogsmeade.
The shock of suddenly hearing that Harry has a godfather is far greater than the Kyle appearing in the Gryffindor Common Room.
"You have a godfather?" Neville asked in surprise. "How come you've never mentioned him before?"
"I just found out too," Harry said with a laugh, as he stuffed candy into Neville's pocket.
Previously, there was no other way; because of Sirius's identity, he could only keep this matter to himself and didn't tell anyone.
But things are different now. Sirius was declared innocent during the retrial, and he can finally openly tell everyone the good news.
However, Harry didn't get carried away. After all, he had only heard about it and hadn't seen the newspaper or the letter, so he deliberately didn't mention Sirius's name.
Seeing Harry's excitement, Hermione was happy for him too; she knew how hard Harry had waited for this day.
However... she lowered her head, seemingly lost in thought.
Soon, Harry returned. He placed the half-full candy jar on the table and then stared blankly out the window. Every time an owl flew by, he couldn't help but stand up, and when they flew away, he would show a disappointed expression.
"Don't you find this strange?" Hermione suddenly asked.
"What's so strange?" Harry replied absentmindedly, still staring out the window.
"Kyle, of course," Hermione said.
Ron fiddled with his new quill and asked, "What happened to him?"
"Didn't any of you notice?" Hermione gave them a disdainful look. "How did Kyle know Sirius was acquitted?"
"The newspaper, of course," Ron said matter-of-factly. "Didn't he say that the Daily Prophet had to print an extra copy because of this?"
"What about these things?!"
Hermione pointed to the golden cauldron on the table. "This was obviously bought by Sirius in Diagon Alley. Have you ever thought that if he wanted to give it to Harry, why didn't he just have it delivered by owl instead of going through the trouble of having Kyle help him...?"
Ron looked up, and Harry stopped looking out the window.
Right, they then realized that if it was for Harry, why did they have Kyle deliver it?
Could it be that Sirius wrote down the wrong address? But they're all clearly at Hogwarts.
"Don't you understand yet?" Hermione looked at the two puzzled students, slamming her homework shut in annoyance. "It's simple. I dare say Kyle was with Sirius back then, and he was in Diagon Alley too!"
"What?" Ron said in disbelief. "But that can't be... I mean, there's no Hogwarts Express on weekends, how did he get back?"
"There must be some other way," Hermione said. "Also, I don't know if you remember, but at lunchtime today, Professor Dumbledore went to the Great Hall and called Kyle away. He hasn't returned yet."
"You mean..." Harry frowned, "He already knew about Sirius's retrial back then, and even went outside the school to look for him?"
"I think so..."
The three fell silent immediately, not understanding why Dumbledore would tell Kyle this.
Harry felt a lump in his throat; he was Sirius's godson, and he was the last to know...
Ouch.
As Harry was lost in thought, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his hand. Looking down, he saw an owl, about the size of a Bludger, pecking at his hand, with a letter beside it.
"Oh, Sirius has sent a letter!" he exclaimed excitedly, tearing open the envelope in a few quick movements.
Hermione and Ron also gathered around.
Meanwhile, the news of Sirius Black's acquittal spread rapidly throughout Hogwarts through the Daily Prophet. Students who subscribed to the newspaper immediately told others, and now everyone is talking about it, even putting the Triwizard Tournament aside.
Twelve years in Azkaban, waiting for a chance for revenge—could there be a more legendary experience?
Hogwarts is full of teenagers, who are at the peak of their youthful energy, and this is exactly what they love to watch.
By dinnertime, almost all the students in the Great Hall were discussing the matter. Fred and George no longer paid attention to the box; they gathered around Harry, curiously trying to find out more.
Harry was so excited after receiving the letter that he let it slip, and now almost everyone in Gryffindor knows that Sirius is his godfather.
Everyone was eager to get information from him that wasn't in the newspapers.
Others, unable to squeeze in, could only guess.
"I dare say Black did it on purpose..." Mikel said confidently at the Hufflepuff table, "He was willing to give up his freedom and be imprisoned in Azkaban so that he could kill those Death Eaters inside."
"That's difficult," someone said. "With the Dementor around, even Black wouldn't just kill the Death Eaters locked up inside."
"So it took him twelve years," Mikel said. "And don't forget, he was the first person to successfully escape from there, so he must have a way to deal with the Dementor."
Surprisingly, his statement received considerable support.
Since they managed to escape, they must have a way to deal with the Dementor... That makes perfect sense.
"After he kills all the Death Eaters, he'll come out and find the real culprit, clearing his name... I have to say, he's truly remarkable."
Mikel continued, his eyes gleaming, "If Professor Dumbledore could invite him to be the Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor."
"Of course, I'm not saying Professor Moody is bad, I mean, let's wait until next year..."
The curse of the Professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts is so deeply ingrained that five professors were replaced in five years, and none of them were re-elected.
So even the legendary Auror didn't hold out much hope... Lockhart's reputation was similar to Moody's, and he was a member of Order of Merlin, yet he still failed, didn't he?
The students were making a noisy discussion about Sirius Black, and the same was true at the High Table.
Dumbledore's secrecy was impeccable; no one had revealed it, and most of the professors only learned of it today, with the exception of a very few.
Hagrid had been staring blankly at a newspaper for half an hour.
He had cursed Sirius Black quite a bit before, and had said more than once that if he caught Black, he would beat him so badly he would eat his last meal, or he would be a Flobberworm.
But now the situation has suddenly reversed; Black is innocent, and the traitor is someone else.
He definitely can't get Black's leftovers out of the box now, but he doesn't want to be Flobberworm.
"What am I going to do..." Hagrid felt his mind was in a mess.
