The Seventh Floor of the castle.

Kyle had been to the Headmaster's Office many times before, so he easily found the gargoyle stone beast statue and gave the password.

The statue jumped to the side, revealing the passage behind it.

In the Headmaster's Office, Dumbledore was looking for something on the bookshelf when he heard the door open and turned around.

"I hope my invitation hasn't bothered you," he said cheerfully. "But please wait a moment, I think I'll find it soon... Oh, here it is."

Dumbledore pulled a thin booklet from the bookshelf.

"I think it's time to fulfill our previous agreement."

He laughed and said, "Remember? Back in that cave, I promised to teach you a spell."

"Of course, I've never forgotten." Kyle suddenly became excited, but then asked doubtfully, "But Professor, do you have time now? I mean... the Philosopher's Stone."

"Forging the Philosopher's Stone is destined to be a long process, Kyle," Dumbledore said. "Once the preparations are complete, there's nothing more we can do but wait patiently."

"This period of time is just the right time for me to fulfill my previous promise... I was supposed to teach you when school started, but I didn't expect it to be delayed until now. I bet you must be getting impatient."

Kyle remained silent, which was taken as tacit agreement.

He was indeed getting quite anxious, but every time he saw Dumbledore rushing around, he felt too embarrassed to ask, especially after Nicolas Flamel had visited the school.

"Excuse me for asking, but why do you want to learn from Firestorm...? Well, you know, the name of that spell." Dumbledore looked at Kyle, "To explore the mysteries of spells? Or perhaps to pursue powerful magic?"

"Both," Kyle thought for a moment and said, "But mostly it's because of liking and curiosity."

"Oh?" Dumbledore.

"To be honest, I don't actually lack powerful spells." Kyle sat down in the chair opposite Dumbledore. "For example, the Fiendfyre."

A series of clanging sounds came from all around.

That came from the headmaster's portrait; they seemed surprised that a student would be so bold as to admit to knowing Dark Magic in front of Dumbledore.

The principals could no longer pretend to be asleep, and they all huddled together in the largest picture frame, whispering among themselves.

But Dumbledore remained calm, as if Kyle had simply said something perfectly ordinary.

"Although saying this might make me seem arrogant..." Kyle didn't seem to think there was anything wrong with it either, and continued, "I believe I have mastered and can use this spell skillfully."

In terms of sheer power and destructive force, I think few spells can rival Fiendfyre.

"That's true." Dumbledore nodded in agreement.

The reason why Fiendfyre is not listed Unforgivable Curses is simply because it has the nemesis of Finite Incantatem, not because its power is insufficient.

"I thought you would say it was for self-preservation," Dumbledore said.

"That's part of the reason," Kyle said, "But normally we definitely won't need it; what I learned from the professor is enough."

Kyle recalled, "For example, when I was in first grade, Oren told me to carry a Broomstick with me, which was a very practical way to protect myself."

"In second grade, Quirrell showed me the Fiendfyre, and that's when I learned it."

"Although Lockhart in the third year wasn't very reliable, he did give me a notebook on Memory Charm in the end. In some ways, this spell is quite powerful; it can directly render a person unable to resist."

"Most importantly, it fully complies with the Wizarding Law. As long as it doesn't steal other people's memories like Lockhart did, you can use it with confidence."

"Lupin in fourth grade... um... Professor Lupin, he..."

Kyle thought and thought, but couldn't recall anything extra Lupin had taught him. The only Patronus Charm was one he already knew before the start of the semester.

"Um... he taught me how to identify Werewolf," Kyle mumbled.

"And there's Professor Moody in fifth grade..."

Kyle got stuck again, because the Shield Charm was something he already knew.

At that moment, Kyle suddenly realized that things seemed to be getting a little strange.

Why is he talking about what those unorthodox professors taught, while the proper professors seem to have become dispensable?

This doesn't make sense...

Dumbledore seemed to have noticed this as well. He looked at Kyle, who was looking like he was questioning the meaning of life, shook his head with amusement, and felt a strange sense of comfort.

Although the Professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts he consulted each had their own problems, at least one of them learned something truly useful from them, which proves that his decision wasn't entirely wrong.

"Every wizard is curious and wants to explore more magic," Dumbledore said. "I'm no exception; it's perfectly normal."

"That's good," Kyle said.

"Actually, I only asked this out of curiosity. No matter how you answer, I'll teach you because I promised... Oh, by the way, here you go."

Dumbledore handed the booklet to Kyle, "This is something I wrote a long time ago, and it's the foundational theory you need to master to learn how to use Firestorm."

Kyle took the booklet and looked at the slightly faded cover.

The Evolution of Ancient Runes: Spells and Symbols

"Ancient Runes?"

"To be precise, it should be Ancient Runes magic."

Dumbledore explained, "Writing Ancient Runes with a wand, using symbols instead of spells, is the original form of magic. It is powerful, but complex and difficult to control. If one is not careful, the magic may backfire."

"That's why the four Founders of Hogwarts —Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin —established the Hogwarts. They believed it was necessary to teach young wizards how to use magic correctly and ensure their safety."

"But even so, it couldn't completely change the situation of fewer and fewer wizards... It wasn't until hundreds of years later, through the efforts of some very far-sighted wizards, that Ancient Runes and hand gestures were gradually replaced by incantations and hand gestures, which allowed the number of students at Hogwarts to increase."

"Ancient Runes magic..." Kyle murmured.

As expected, his previous idea was correct. Even if the Time-Turner could allow him to reconnect with people from a thousand years ago, such an act would be tantamount to courting death.

"Professor, how many people were at Hogwarts a thousand years ago?" Kyle asked curiously.

"According to the records in the Book of Admittance ..." Dumbledore, "The fewest were twenty, and the most were less than fifty."

"One grade?" Kyle blurted out.

No, everyone.

Dumbledore said with a serious expression, "In fact, if it weren't for your mastery of Ancient Runes far surpassing that of most adult wizards, I wouldn't have agreed to teach you this spell; it's too dangerous."

Kyle Dumbledore's words: fifty people in a school, which meant ten people in a house?

This probably doesn't need to be divided by grade level anymore.

"However, you don't need to worry about your safety here."

Dumbledore then adopted a more relaxed tone.

"So the first thing we need to learn is to memorize what's in here."

He pointed to the booklet with his finger, "Only by mastering these most basic theoretical knowledge can we proceed with the next stage of our studies."

"How about a week? I can make the decision. Most professors will exempt you from homework this week, or if you need more time, that's fine too."

Kyle casually flipped through the five-page booklet. "No problem, Professor, a week is enough."

"That's good," Dumbledore said. "In that case, our classes will be held every Saturday morning at nine o'clock, and the passwords will remain the same."

"Yes, Professor," Kyle said, his tone tinged with anticipation.

He was naturally very interested in Ancient Runes and magic, and wanted to come every day, but Dumbledore had made that decision, so there was nothing he could do.
