Come Teach Us

In addition to Divination Class and Transfiguration Class, Umbridge also attended Professor Flitwick's Charms class.

According to Cedric, this was the most abrupt Charms class he had ever attended. Professor Flitwick had a stern face throughout the entire class, merely dealing with Umbridge's endless questions, completely lacking the enthusiasm he displayed in previous classes.

"We need to think of something." During dinner, Cedric had no appetite and said worriedly, "If this continues, she will not only destroy Defense Against the Dark Arts, but also the other subjects."

"It shouldn't be that bad," Kyle said. "The investigation into the professor shouldn't last too long. After all, it requires her to be in different classrooms every day, Umbridge probably has other things to do and won't spend all her time attending classes every day."

"I hope it's as you say," Cedric sighed. "Actually, even if Umbridge only destroyed one Defense Against the Dark Arts, it would be bad enough."

"The You-Know-Who has made a comeback, and his Death Eaters are definitely plotting against us. But even at this most critical moment, we're not learning anything in our Defence Against the Dark Arts."

Mikel and Ryan, who were standing nearby, nodded in agreement.

Cedric is right, they certainly can't handle the You-Know-Who, nor is it necessary; that's Headmaster Dumbledore's job.

But if war were to break out, the Death Eaters wouldn't let them off just because Hogwarts hadn't taught them Defense Against the Dark Arts.

They need the ability to protect themselves.

Suddenly, sighs began to echo throughout the dining table.

Kyle didn't speak; he thought of the last time he met Fudge at the Three Broomsticks.

Judging from Fudge's behavior at the time, he must have been tempted.

If Fudge could announce the resurrection of the You-Know-Who on behalf of the Ministry of Magic, then the Defense Against the Dark Arts course would definitely change; at the very least, they would get one... or even several reliable professors.

But to Kyle's surprise, he was able to remain calm and didn't make a move for so long.

Perhaps Fudge wanted to eliminate the threat Dumbledore first.

Or perhaps he's still hesitating...

After all, announcing Voldemort's resurrection has both advantages and disadvantages. Although there is no change of leadership during wartime, it could easily cause fear among everyone if not handled carefully.

He will most likely be ousted from office at that point.

Being able to consider all this still means the pressure isn't high enough.

Kyle shook his head.

Unfortunately, Rita Skeeter is now under scrutiny from the Ministry of Magic because of what happened last time, so she can no longer publish articles, and Dumbledore is unwilling to cooperate.

Otherwise, he might have been able to find a way to help Fudge again and give him a push.

"Feel sorry..."

As Kyle was thinking, he suddenly heard a familiar voice.

He looked up and realized that Hermione had somehow come over from the Gryffindor table, followed by a somewhat nervous Harry and Ron.

"Is there something you need?" Kyle asked.

"It's like this..." Hermione glanced around and whispered, "There are too many people here. Can we go somewhere quieter?"

"No need for that." Kyle took out his wand and tapped it lightly.

"Muffliato!" Kyle said. "Alright, now no one else can hear what we're saying."

This spell was learned by Kyle from Snape's "Advanced Potion-Making." It can create an area and fill the ears of everyone around with an indistinguishable buzzing sound, making it very effective at preventing eavesdropping.

Hermione was somewhat surprised, but also delighted.

"Is that so?"

Although she had never seen this spell before, she didn't doubt Kyle's statement and said directly, "I think you all know what a terrible teacher Umbridge is. We can't learn anything about defense against the Dark Magic from her at all."

"Of course," Kyle said. "In fact, we were just discussing this, so what are you trying to say?"

"Let me make this clear from the start: if you want us to unite and drive Umbridge out, forget it... She has Fudge backing her up, something even Professor Dumbledore couldn't do."

"No, I know there's no way to get rid of her," Hermione said hesitantly. "I'm thinking, maybe we can... do it ourselves."

Cedric suddenly became interested. "You mean we should learn Defense Against the Dark Arts ourselves?"

"Yes, that's it," Hermione said, her voice suddenly becoming agitated. "We need to be prepared for what's to come. I mean, we need to be able to protect ourselves, instead of spending our days in the classroom, slumbering over theories and parchment."

"So we need a teacher, a suitable teacher, who can teach us how to use spells and correct us when we make mistakes, like Sirius or Professor Moody."

Hermione became more and more excited as she spoke, glancing at Kyle every now and then.

"And we have someone like that right here in our lives, and I dare say he's more suited for this job than most people."

"I think I know who you're talking about." Cedric smiled. "You're right, he's certainly a good fit."

Kyle looked at Hermione's gleaming eyes and Cedric's malicious expression, and instantly understood what they meant.

So, instinctively, before Hermione could speak, he blurted out, "Yes, I completely support what you say; it's a good thing."

"So you agree?" Hermione asked excitedly.

"Yes." Kyle nodded. "I know you want Cedric to teach you Defense Against the Dark Arts, and that's no problem at all. I'm the first to agree."

"That's great..." Cedric patted Kyle on the shoulder happily, but just as he was about to say something, he suddenly realized something was wrong.

"Wait... Hermione clearly said..."

"I know," Kyle interrupted him. "You're shy and hesitant to agree, but that's okay. I'll agree on your behalf. You're welcome."

Now, not only Cedric, but even Hermione was stunned.

Her real purpose in coming here was to have Kyle teach them Defense Against the Dark Arts.

Last night, she, Harry, and Ron discussed it for a long time and unanimously agreed that Kyle was the most suitable candidate.

There's nothing to question about that, after all, Kyle's accolades are on display in the Trophy Room: two unprecedented Special Award for Services to the School, the Most Promising Newcomer Award in "Today's Transfiguration," the youngest winner of the Triwizard Tournament, and the youngest member of the Order of Merlin.

It's fair to say that Kyle receives a new honor every year... The Special Award for Services to the School, becomes the least noticeable one for him.

Therefore, Hermione thought Kyle was the perfect replacement for Umbridge, a view shared by Harry and Ron.

"Actually, we want you to teach," Ron muttered under his breath. "If it were anyone else, we might as well have asked Harry."

"Hey, don't say that," Harry quickly stopped him, looking at Cedric apologetically. "Sorry, Diggory, it's not what you think..."

"It's alright," Cedric waved his hand, "Because that's what I think too."

"No, I'm not suitable." Kyle shook his head decisively. "Wanting to teach others more about what you know is completely different from knowing how many spells."

"I don't see any difference," Ron said, somewhat unconvinced.

In his view, professors are powerful wizards, Vice-Headmaster Professor McGonagall is more powerful than ordinary professors, and Headmaster Dumbledore is the most powerful one. What's wrong with that?

"Of course there are differences." Kyle glanced at him. "Take the Transfiguration Spell, for example. Before sixth grade, I could learn it after Professor McGonagall demonstrated it once. So it's difficult for me to explain to you how to do it and what points to pay attention to, because I haven't experienced it."

After hearing Kyle's words, everyone's expressions were priceless, especially Harry and Ron, who felt their faces burning as if two Salamander were crawling on them.

Leaving aside the sixth-year Transfiguration, the fifth-year Transfiguration was already a huge test for them... Even with Hermione's help, it would take them several days to barely pass.

So Kyle is now telling them he only needs to watch it once to understand?

The gap was simply too large; both of them found it hard to accept.

Even Hermione was speechless, her mouth agape. She felt that Kyle had just been showing off something, and the evidence was conclusive.
