Especially after receiving one-fifth of the donation, his attitude was no longer as firm as before. He had effectively acquiesced to Fudge's suggestion that Lupin be allowed to give it a try.

By the time Sirius walked out of the Ministry of Magic, he had an extra piece of parchment in his hand.

"I never thought the problem that had plagued Remus for decades could be solved so easily." Sirius carefully put away the parchment. "I have to thank you on Remus's behalf, Kyle."

"I wasn't the one who donated those five thousand Galleons," Kyle said. "And this wasn't easy at all. After all, not just anyone can casually come up with five thousand Galleons.

"And Lupin's identity had a great deal to do with it."

"Lupin's identity..." Sirius did not quite understand. He asked doubtfully, "A member of the Order of the Phoenix?"

Other than that, he could not think of any other special identity Lupin had.

"More or less," Kyle said. "Dumbledore trusted him. Not only did he make an exception and allow him to attend Hogwarts, but he later made him a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. That was also the main reason Fudge and Scrimgeour agreed to this...

"If Dumbledore hadn't set that precedent, never mind five thousand Galleons—even fifty thousand wouldn't persuade the Ministry of Magic to let a werewolf become an Auror."

"Isn't that a bit much... That's fifty thousand Galleons," Sirius said skeptically.

Fifty thousand Galleons was an enormous sum even for those ancient pure-blood families.

"The situation is different now," Kyle said. "The werewolves have made it clear that they'll join the Death Eaters. If people found out
