Shield Charm, Lost Sirius

This letter was not particularly long. Aside from the greetings and such, the part actually concerning spells was less than two sheets of parchment, but its contents were obscure and difficult to understand. Even with the reference charts Dumbledore had given him, Kyle had to ponder them over and over.

At the same time, he took out his wand and experimented with various combinations of runes.

Specks of runes drifted from the tip of his wand, gathering together to form new symbols. For a moment, a transparent net seemed to form around Kyle, but it quickly shattered and vanished.

"No, not this..." Kyle frowned and rapidly flipped through the translation charts.

He was so focused that he did not even notice the sky outside had long since grown bright.

Before he knew it, Kyle had been sitting at his desk for an entire night.
