A Letter

"What did Kanna give you?"

"Come on, open it and have a look."

As soon as Dumbledore left, Fred and George flanked Kyle, looking at him teasingly.

Kyle did not hesitate and opened the box right away.

Inside was a robe, but its style was completely different from the ones commonly seen in England. It was comparatively more ornate, similar to Dress Robes.

The brown fabric bore a distinctive light-colored pattern that looked like decoration at first glance. But upon closer inspection, it became clear that it was formed by the fabric itself being made of two different colors.

The ends were brown while the middle was light gray. Woven together in a particular way, they created this unique pattern.

"I saw a scarf in Hogsmeade before that was made of something pretty similar," Fred said thoughtfully.

George thought for a moment. "I remember the shopkeeper saying it was... Leucro... Leucro something. Anyway, it was neck hair from some very rare magical creature."

"Leucrotta," Kyle said.

"Yes, yes, that was the name." Fred nodded repeatedly.

Leucrotta were large magical creatures that looked a great deal like moose, their defining feature being their unbelievably large mouths.

When their mouths were fully open, they could easily swallow an entire cow... though they were herbivores by nature and quite gentle.

The creatures themselves were not particularly rare; they were simply less common in England.

"So where exactly did Kanna go?" George asked. "We wrote her a lot of letters, but we haven't received a single reply."

"Kyle, do you know?"

"All I know is that Snape took her to sit for the Extraordinary Potioneers Association assessment," Kyle said with a shrug. "But I don't know where exactly, since I haven't received any replies either."

"Still, I'd guess it's somewhere in Northern Europe."
