There was still a week before term began, and Kyle and the others needed to go to Diagon Alley to buy everything they would need for the new school year.
Although the weather that day was not particularly pleasant, it did nothing to dampen everyone's good mood.
Harry especially had not been out of the house for over a month. Though he enjoyed spending time with Sirius, he could not help getting a little bored after so long.
So the moment he stepped outside, he seemed particularly excited.
"How are we getting there?" Bill stood in the street, warily scanning their surroundings.
"Remus and Kingsley are driving us," Sirius said. "Oh, here they are."
As he spoke, a Ministry of Magic car pulled up in front of them.
"Brilliant," Ron said happily. "I thought we'd have to take... that thing again. It's called the Underground, right?"
"There's nothing wrong with taking the Underground." Hermione shot him a glance.
"Of course, you're right." Ron settled into the car and stretched his limbs comfortably. "But in terms of convenience and comfort, the Ministry's car is definitely better."
Hermione did not argue this time, because Ron was telling the truth. Cars enhanced with magic were indeed much more comfortable, and spacious enough as well.
"Don't get too used to it. This is only a special arrangement, meant to protect Harry—especially since the Death Eaters attacked Diagon Alley not long ago," Mr. Weasley said, turning around.
"He's under top-level security now. There'll be others at the Leaky Cauldron to protect us too."
Harry said nothing. He was still not used to this sort of special treatment, nor did he want a group of Aurors following him around while he shopped... Lupin excepted, of course.
