By the time Kyle returned to Hogsmeade, it was already dark. Lights of varying brightness shone through the shop windows lining the street, making the village seem quiet and peaceful.
Kyle was in no hurry to return to school. Since he was already here, he stopped by the Three Broomsticks to buy some drinks that Hogwarts did not have.
A large barrel of Butterbeer, a bottle of Pumpkin Juice, and two bottles of cherry soda that Kanna liked.
After placing his order, Kyle waited nearby.
Although it was not a visiting day, the Three Broomsticks was still crowded. The pub was packed, with hardly an empty seat to be found.
Not far away, two wizards drank as they complained about the current situation.
From their conversation, Kyle gathered that they had not dared visit the Leaky Cauldron recently, so they had chosen the Three Broomsticks, which was closer to Hogwarts.
People generally seemed to believe that Voldemort and the Death Eaters would not dare approach a place where Dumbledore was present.
And that was indeed true. At least so far, Kyle had not heard of anyone disappearing or being killed by Death Eaters near Hogsmeade. It was perfectly understandable that they would come here to drink and unwind.
"Here's what you ordered..."
Rosmerta soon returned. Most of the wizards in the pub followed her movements with their eyes, occasionally letting out a foolish chuckle before draining a full glass of alcohol in one gulp.
That was the second advantage of coming to the Three Broomsticks. Looking at the beautiful, charming owner, Rosmerta, was far better than facing old, ugly, hunchbacked Tom. It even made the drinks go down by another two pints.
"Rosmerta, another pint of mead!" someone shouted. "Hurry up!"
"Wait!" Rosmerta called back impatiently before turning to Kyle.
