The golden pocket watch gleamed on the table, and through the hands and gaps, the even brighter red Philosopher's Stone inside could vaguely be seen.
Kyle looked at Nicolas. "It's fixed already?"
"The process went smoothly," Nicolas said with a smile. "Even more smoothly than I expected. Not a single mistake."
Now, not only Kyle but also all the headmasters around them could no longer hold back. They crowded over, craning their necks to look at the table.
"So this is that Time-Turner?" Phineas smacked his lips.
"Obviously." Armando Dippet shot him a glance. "What else would it be, a fork?"
"I mean, can such a tiny thing really send someone back a hundred years?" For once, Phineas did not argue with Armando, his gaze fixed on the golden pocket watch.
"What, you want to use it?" Armando mocked. "Too bad portraits can't use Time-Turners."
"Who said I wanted to use it? I was just asking... is that not allowed?" Phineas snapped.
"It certainly can." At that moment, a witch's voice came from behind them. "Even farther back would not be a problem."
"Remarkable. As expected of Salazar Slytherin's work."
"No, only the framework remains the same. Most of it has been altered. Strictly speaking, this already counts as an entirely different creation.
"And using a Philosopher's Stone as the core... it may be somewhat extravagant, but it is an excellent idea. It minimizes the risks as much as possible. Truly impressive."
"I'm delighted to receive your praise," Nicolas said with a smile. "But there is one thing I must admit: without this crucial framework, I would not have been able to recreate this Time-Turner."
"That's more like it," Phineas said. "Salazar Slytherin's wisdom is unmatched."
He held his head high, looking as though he shared in the glory.
