Chapter 85
The medication administration process went exceptionally smoothly this time.
Without even saying a word, Mikel took the Potions bottle with the number on it as soon as he saw it and gulped it down.
It was clear from his increasingly contorted expression that the Potions still tasted awful, but Mikel hadn't wasted a single drop.
After finishing the drink, he even smacked his lips and exclaimed, "Good medicine."
Of course, it would have been even better if his facial expression had been more natural when he said that.
Instead of looking like this now, with his face pale and almost black, his features almost squeezed together, coupled with his earlier comment about "good medicine," anyone who didn't know better would think he was some kind of poison appraiser.
Kyle could hardly understand his current thoughts; it was probably a bittersweet experience.
As the weather gradually warms up, the Quidditch Match is already halfway through.
Gryffindor currently leads in both wins and points scored, with Hufflepuff close behind; the gap between the two is very small.
Because Slytherin had been Special Dungbomb in their faces last time, they would instinctively gag whenever they saw Broomstick for a while afterward, which caused them to fall far behind in the score and rank third.
However, after the Christmas break, they gradually recovered and have been racking up points in recent matches in an attempt to close the gap with the top two teams.
As a staple of Slytherin's repertoire, they certainly wouldn't hesitate to resort to dirty tricks during matches.
In a recent game, Gryffindor's Chaser Angelina was knocked off her broom by them.
"This isn't over, Rosier," Charlie said with a grim expression as he escorted Angelina off the field. "We'll see."
However, Rosier merely gave Charlie a provocative look, seemingly not taking it seriously.
However, at dinner that day, more than twenty Broomstick- shaped packages were thrown onto the Slytherin table by the owls.
Rosier's face turned green on the spot.
The Gryffindor didn't hide their behavior either, and led by Fred and George, they even shouted for Rosier to open the package and see the surprise they had prepared.
This quickly alerted Professor Snape. After learning what had happened in the Great Hall from the little snake who came to report it, he rushed over, waving his large cloak.
"What Dungbomb? I don't know what you're talking about, Professor."
Charlie said innocently, "Those were just fireworks we specially ordered for the Slytherin Quidditch Team to celebrate their victory in today's game."
"Just fireworks?" Snape clearly didn't believe it.
"Of course, Rosier is a respectable opponent, and he won beautifully. I certainly congratulate him."
Charlie grinned and said, "What, Rosier, don't you like this gift?"
He'll be graduating and going to Romania next year, so he naturally won't be as nervous as the others when facing Snape.
Snape's face darkened. He took out his wand and opened the packages in front of everyone.
Just as Charlie said, it was indeed full of fireworks. After the package was opened, the golden and red fireworks shot straight up to the ceiling and then exploded with a "boom," forming the two large characters "Victory" in mid-air.
However, Snape still deducted ten points from Gryffindor.
The reasons given were making loud noises in the Great Hall and disrespecting the professor.
But the Gryffindor didn't care.
Anyway, their House Points are almost down to single digits now. Unless they can get an extra 500 points at the end of the semester, they basically have no hope of winning the House Cup.
So the Gryffindor students collectively decided—to open the fair!
As the saying goes, it's fun to give up temporarily, and it's even more fun to keep giving up.
The Gryffindor students suddenly discovered how happy life at Hogwarts was.
Even now, despite being deducted ten points by Snape for such an absurd excuse, they remained completely unfazed.
George even went so far as to say, "I think disrespecting the professor is a very serious mistake, and you should deduct thirty points from our score."
His idea was simple: since he couldn't get first place, he would do the opposite and aim for the lowest score.
Black and red are still red, right?
Snape's face darkened further.
He really wanted to grant George's request, but unfortunately, there was only a thin layer of sand left in the Gryffindor hourglass, probably only about twenty minutes.
He can't just deduct all the points, can he?
We still need to save face for Professor McGonagall.
Besides, the order for purchasing Potions ingredients also needs the vice principal's signature; he has to think about his own private storage room.
"You're right, Mr. Weasley," Snape said, giving George a sinister look. "But no need for demerits, just put him in solitary confinement."
"Go to the Potions Classroom tonight and clean out all those old cauldrons."
Remember, wipe with your hands the entire time; do not use your wand. Filch will be watching you.
George's smile froze.
He remained in a daze until Snape left the Great Hall.
"Merlin's floral socks, confinement? Why?!"
"Because he's a professor," Fred said sympathetically, patting George on the shoulder. "Take it easy, the night will pass quickly."
"You'll help me, right?" George asked hopefully.
Fred fell silent; clearly, he was unwilling.
"Percy?"
"..."
"Charlie!"
"..."
No one responded to him.
Faced with confinement, a brotherhood of more than a decade proved so fragile.
George was almost in tears; he felt as if the world had suddenly turned gray.
"Cough cough..."
Just as George was getting more and more into character, Charlie smacked him on the head in annoyance.
"Alright, stop pretending. Don't think I don't know you and Fred secretly hid an automatic cleaning kit."
George's tears, which were about to fall, vanished instantly, replaced by a familiar smile that showed no trace of sadness or distress.
"You're so boring, Charlie."
As the people who had been put in solitary confinement the most times, Fred and George naturally wouldn't be completely unprepared.
The automatic cleaning kit is something they prepared specifically to handle restricted tasks like "wiping things down."
The crucible was naturally among them.
"But then again, your method really works." Charlie looked at the crumbs and said, "I didn't expect Rosier to be so scared that he threw his plate. Why is that?"
"It's a secret."
George and Fred blinked simultaneously, revealing nothing more.
Fortunately, Charlie wasn't a particularly curious person, and seeing that the twins didn't want to talk about it, he didn't ask any further.
All you need to know is that this trick works against Slytherin.
