By the time Kyle left the Three Broomsticks, it was already afternoon. Rosier had left Hogsmeade even earlier.
Though Rosier seemed somewhat disappointed that the additional deal had not gone through, she certainly would not be careless about something Grindelwald had promised.
All Kyle needed to do now was wait patiently.
When he returned to Hogwarts, the afternoon examinations had just begun. Kyle did not even need to go back to the castle; from afar, he could see the students waiting outside the Forbidden Forest.
Care of Magical Creatures... There were very few people taking this examination, only a dozen or so, but nearly every one of them wore a delighted smile.
Their task was simply to find the Thestrals in the enclosure within the allotted time and lead them to a designated location without touching them.
Under normal circumstances, this would still have been a difficult question, since most Hogwarts students could not see Thestrals and could only use what they had learned to determine where they might appear.
The enclosure used specifically for the N.E.W.T. examinations was about the size of three Quidditch Pitches. Most students needed extensive knowledge and sufficient experience to find any sign of a Thestral in such a vast open space.
And leading them to the designated location afterward was also a test of patience.
But now, things seemed to have changed somewhat.
Kyle saw Seamus Finnigan stroll up to a Thestral as though he were out for a walk, then tempt it with a fresh beef shank and lead it to the designated spot. The entire process took only a few minutes.
There were also Justin Finch-Fletchley and his friend Macmillan.
How should he put it? This examination was so easy that all they had to do was walk through the enclosure once
