Background & History
Qi Qingmo originated in the Spirit Energy Era, when cultivators refined heaven-and-earth spirit energy. As the Age of Dharma Decline approached, spirit-energy cultivators were forced to adopt body tempering as well; Qi Qingmo became an Immortal-and-Martial dual cultivator and created the Blood Tempering Technique for that purpose. She later sealed herself away, surviving into a new era when fewer than ten powerhouses from her age were believed capable of doing so. 217
Lin Zichen revived her from the Bronze Ancient Coffin. After awakening, she taught Lin, Shen Qinghan, and the others the method of opening apertures, then compensated Lin’s expended Blood Qi with a Twin Light and Dark Fruit. 215 She subsequently remained near Lin and Shen, drawing Lin’s Blood Qi to sustain herself while providing Blood Bath Pills, cultivation knowledge, and protection in return. 217
Interested in the Origin Land and the vanished Undersea Ruins, Qi Qingmo claimed Shen Qinghan’s Pearl Shell Bracelet after recognizing the spirit energy sealed inside it. She entered the Origin Land through Source Land No. 36, where she tested its unfamiliar energies, slaughtered Divine Plant Cult forces, and collected their blood and crystals as resources. 218 221 222
Her methods drew fear as well as gratitude. She refined corpses and defeated enemies into Blood Bath Pills, including the Divine Plant Cult’s First Elder after using him to gather a beast horde. 220 231 While exploring the Southern Wilderness Beast Realm, she entered a set of Ruins and vanished for an extended period. 251
Qi Qingmo later reunited with Lin and Shen while fleeing the Flower God’s forces. She rescued them, joined the Sea God and Su Meixiao against the Sun-Moon Sacred Land and the Land of Extinction, and continued fighting the Wood God during the escalating Mythical-tier conflict. 277 279 321
Appearance
Qi Qingmo is a beautiful, slender woman who commonly wears Daoist robes. Her appearance contrasts with the oppressive aura she carries after battle. 217 231
- Slender, jade-like hands capable of crushing distant opponents with a gesture. 222
- Red lips and star-like eyes described as having stars circling within them. 215 217
- Daoist robes, at times drenched in the fresh blood of Origin Land beasts. 231
- Can appear, vanish, or reposition so quickly that observers cannot follow her movement. 215 222
Personality
Qi Qingmo is intensely focused on evolution, survival, and acquiring resources that will restore or expand her strength. She negotiated assistance to the Sea God in exchange for an orb and Origin Water Essence, and she studied Beast Cores in hopes of replacing spirit energy with Source Power. 231 278
Her morality is pragmatic and often ruthless. She kills opponents without hesitation, refines blood into pills, and executed the Divine Plant Cult’s First Elder immediately after telling him he could “depart from this world.” 219 231 She has little concern for conventional boundaries, openly admitting that she eavesdropped on Lin and Shen because she was bored. 216 235
Despite this detachment, she consistently protects Lin Zichen and Shen Qinghan. She rescued them from the Divine Plant Cult, carried them away from the Flower God, and openly chose Lin’s side over ancient powerhouses from her own era. 231 277 320
