Crackle!
The sound of flames consuming dry wood echoed through the small, deathly silent room. The flickering fire cast Zhuge Lian's cheeks in red. What burned was a straw effigy representing Pseudo-Sasuke. The other straw effigy, representing Pseudo-Naruto, remained completely still.
"So fast."
Zhuge Lian sighed. Then he rose, dusted off his clothes, and opened the door to leave. He went to Zhu Tong's residence and knocked on her door. Before even entering, he caught a strong smell of alcohol, making him frown. Zhu Tong's voice drifted faintly from behind the sliding door. "What do you want?" Zhuge Lian said, "Bad news. Sasuke may already be dead."
With a crash, Zhu Tong pulled open the sliding door. Looking half-drunk, she stared at Zhuge Lian. "Dead?" Zhuge Lian replied, "The straw effigy used for divination spontaneously combusted." Zhu Tong knew a little about Zhuge Lian's divination techniques and their extremely high accuracy. Even so, she took out a teleportation crystal and crushed it. Sure enough, the crystal shattered across the floor, yet no one appeared.
Zhu Tong's expression immediately became even uglier.
"Useless trash!"
Zhuge Lian said, "If we don't take effective action, the situation will become increasingly unfavorable for us." Zhu Tong asked, "So you have a good solution?" Zhuge Lian gave a bitter smile. "For now... no." Zhu Tong waved him off, took a swig of liquor, and said, "Then why the hell are you talking nonsense if you don't have a solution?" With that, she yanked the door shut, leaving Zhuge Lian outside.
