Bai Lu gritted his teeth and crushed the communicator in his hand into a lump of scrap metal, then casually tossed it aside. Across from him, Ouyang Mu wore a somber expression, her brows slightly furrowed. Bai Lu glanced at Ouyang Mu and said impatiently, "If there's nothing else, go get some rest." Ouyang Mu pressed her rosy lips together and silently nodded. When she reached the door, she turned back and said, "You really don't have to stay in Class 1238 and put up with her."
Bai Lu gave a derisive laugh. "Angry? Why would I be angry? Am I so bored that I'd get worked up over nothing?" Watching Bai Lu's self-deceiving expression, Ouyang Mu gave a faint, bitter smile and said softly, "I'm not even worth as much as that slut anyone can have." Bai Lu's face turned cold. Pointing furiously at the door, he shouted, "Get out!" Ouyang Mu drew a deep breath and gave a miserable smile, as though she had made some sort of decision. "Fine, I'll get out. Just don't regret it later." With that, she slammed the door behind her as she left.
Staring at the gently swaying wooden door, the fury in Bai Lu's eyes gradually scattered. Only after a long while did he let out a sigh. He took a dried flower from his inventory. It was vaguely recognizable as a rose—an heirloom left behind by his older brother, Bai Ao. Gazing at the withered rose in his hand, Bai Lu's face was filled with indescribable sorrow as he cried inwardly, *There's no turning back... no turning back... We're destined to be a tragedy! Ha ha!
