The water surged, as if summoned by some unseen force.

Around the Water God, wisps of vapor-like mist rose from the water and spiraled into the Water God Spear in its hands. As more and more vapor gathered and merged into the spear, a dazzling radiance began to bloom. At that moment, even the sun overhead dimmed, and the wave-splitting spear in the Water God's hands became the only source of light between heaven and earth.

Within the manor, the water level began dropping at a visible rate. But it was not because the water had vanished.
