In June of Marineford Era 1508, after several months of travel, Tsugikuni Yoriichi and his group finally entered the waters around Egghead Island, relying on the Eternal Pose for Egghead Island that Yoriichi had obtained through "special channels."
Egghead Island was supposed to be a winter island in the traditional sense. As the name implied, the island and its surrounding waters should have been locked in winter all year round. Yet for some unknown reason, the waters around Egghead Island now had four distinct seasons.
It was June, and the sun blazed brightly.
The damp sea breeze brushed against their faces. Having just endured a storm, the New Marines collapsed across the deck to recover their strength.
Though Tsugikuni Yoriichi was powerful, he was still helpless when facing natural disasters that spanned vast areas. His slashes could part seas and split clouds, but against a raging storm, he could only weather it alongside his crew.
Personally, with his ability to fly, it was impossible for him to perish at sea just because the ship capsized. But others were different. Before the might of nature, there was simply too little humans could do.
When disaster truly struck, even with Yoriichi's strength, the number of people he could protect was quite limited.
Fortunately, although the ship he had taken was not large and was a traditional sailing vessel, the crew's united efforts had ultimately carried them through the wind
