The piercing alarm instantly penetrated the laboratory's many layers of walls. Inside the spacious laboratory, Borsalino lounged comfortably on a bench. Beside him stood a middle-aged man with an enormous head.
The middle-aged man was no taller than an ordinary person, but his head was nearly as tall as the rest of his body, making him look indescribably strange. At that moment, the strange middle-aged man held a "thick" syringe in his hand and slowly brought it toward Borsalino's arm, intending to draw blood.
The alarm blared through the laboratory. Though softened by the walls and not particularly loud, the sudden sound in the quiet lab still made the middle-aged man's body tremble. He had clearly been startled, and his hand stopped mid-motion.
