Sosuke Aizen stared at the platinum-and-gold spear in Gilgamesh's hand. Its splendor and sacred, imposing aura left him momentarily stunned.

After learning of the Soul King's existence, Sosuke Aizen had spent some time taking an interest in the myths of the Human World, even reading a great many books on the subject.

Norse mythology recorded that anyone who swore an oath upon this spear would see that oath fulfilled. This was also said to be one of the origins of making wishes upon shooting stars.

Before Sosuke Aizen had time to think it through, Gilgamesh, still seated on Vimana's throne, didn't even bother to rise. He simply raised Gungnir high, aimed it at Sosuke Aizen, and hurled it with all his strength.

Gungnir's true name had been released. The moment it was thrown, brilliant light burst from it, and it streaked across the sky like a shooting star.

Watching the scene, Sosuke Aizen
