To be honest, when I wrote the words "The End," my feelings were still rather complicated.
Last night, I kept wondering if perhaps this story had been meant to end from the very beginning.
After all, this was my first book, and it meant a great deal to me.
All right, back to the point!
The book's first chapter was published on August 22, 2024. It reached ten thousand paid subscribers on January 1, 2025, and officially concluded on April 11, 2026.
The main text came to a total of 2.81 million characters, and at the end, the average paid readership per chapter was 10,174.
Even with part of the story losing its footing in the later stages, it still held steady above ten thousand paid subscribers through the end. I was already quite satisfied.
There were still plenty of places I could have taken this book.
For example, Chi Jiuyu's Life-Bound Sword taking human form, Lin Changsheng and Qing, Confusion and Xiao Fan, Gu Wangjun and Leng Rou, and so on.
But thinking it over, those were all other people's stories, while this book was Xu Xing's story.
Even if I didn't really want to admit it, Xu Xing's story had already ended.
The moment he defeated Xuan, the story had already reached its conclusion.
There wasn't much point in continuing.
Even if I wanted to add more depth to the other characters, that would be better suited to a bonus chapter.
