Early life and Sword Sect training

Chi Jiuyu was a third-generation Sword Sect disciple whose origins were initially obscure even to admirers: she was known for extraordinary talent, but not for the identity of her master 28 36. Her master is Bie Xuening, the Sword Venerable, and Chi Jiuyu is her eldest direct disciple 194 296.

Her upbringing as the Sword Venerable’s disciple was notably severe. After reaching Foundation Establishment, she was sent alone to an insect-infested planet and needed three months to kill its leader 39. Her later record reflects the same harsh approach to training: she was deployed against alien races and Bio-Weapons from a young age 409.

In Mystic Sword City, Chi Jiuyu investigated Xuanyue Tower while searching for her martial uncle. She discovered and infiltrated a hidden demonic-path laboratory beneath the tower, where she confronted Nascent Soul cultivators and a Dao Integration Old Devil before her master intervened 28.

Rise to prominence

Chi Jiuyu became publicly famous after crushing the Nascent Soul division of an Immortal Sect Grand Competition, establishing herself as one of the most feared younger cultivators in the Central Continent 36 733. By the time she entered the Three Heavens Realm trial, she had already been acknowledged as a Nascent Soul Ancestor 285.

During the trial, she exposed the schemes of the Heir Apparent of Dingnan through her Void-Piercing Golden Pupils, killed him with a book, and froze the Sword-Holding Maiden after identifying her true nature as a martial-aura wisp 285. After entering Great Profound Heaven, she killed a Nascent Soul cultivator who threatened her group and scattered the remaining hostile cultivators 300.

At age twenty-two, Chi Jiuyu advanced to Spirit Transformation, becoming the youngest cultivator in history to do so 328. She subsequently manifested the Slaying Dharma Form during a Bio-Weapon assault on the Yuyao Star System 392.

Leadership and later service

Chi Jiuyu served as acting Sword Sect Master for one year. The experience noticeably matured her; upon returning to the sect, Du Ruoheng was struck by her professionalism and change in demeanor 837.

She later became an official Planetary System Guardian Envoy assigned to a galaxy in the Southern Star Domain, with responsibility for three major planetary systems 921. As Jiuyu Zhenren, she and Yuyi removed several corrupt planetary guardians from office and sent them to prison, while also recognizing subordinates who performed their duties responsibly 925.

Although widely called Jiuyu Zhenren, she insists that her proper title is Di Yi Zhenren 925.

Her confidence is paired with an impulsive, playful, and sometimes eccentric manner. She enjoys showing off her progress, speaks casually to elders she trusts, and is known for behavior that clashes sharply with her legendary reputation 37 574. She is also highly competitive, particularly with Zhao Ruohan and Zhang Yunlu 409 628.

Despite her flightiness, Chi Jiuyu is dependable in dangerous situations. She completes missions without interference, protects companions, and remains composed when facing opponents stronger than herself 161 518 520.
