Bamboo Forest
The sword strike ended.
A cold wind swept by, and the bamboo groves and pavilions Di'an City fell silent.
The distinguished-looking middle-aged man gazed at the strange celestial phenomenon for a long time, then slowly exhaled a puff of white mist in the cold winter night:
"A stunning sword strike."
The man is gone, but the Sword-Ray remains.
The invisible Sword-Ray, like a divine axe descending from the heavens, left a slash across the dome that stretched to the horizon, its dazzling halo cascading down like the aurora borealis, lingering in the dark snowy night.
Seeing this, the hunched old man slowly sat back down in the pavilion, his voice carrying a hint of admiration, but without the slightest worry:
"It seems our worries were unnecessary. We never expected this young man from the Feng Family to have reached such a level. After tonight, in terms of reputation, I'm afraid no one will be able to rival the name of the Sword Saint for a long time to come."
The middle-aged man glanced back at the old man:
Aren't you worried?
The hunched old man grinned.
"Worried? Why should I worry? I'm overjoyed. Although I do want to see Di'an destroyed, I also want to see that overseas sage pay the price for it."
"After all, I am a member of the Great Yan."
The middle-aged man remained noncommittal.
"It's not very credible for you to say that."
"Think what you want, but what I said is true."
A cold wind seeped in through the cracks in the pavilion, scattering the white hair at the temples of the hunched old man. As he spoke, he gave the middle-aged man opposite him a deep look and said softly:
"White Emperor, if you were to face this Sword Saint, what are your chances of winning?"
"If victory and defeat could be decided simply by looking, there wouldn't be so many life-and-death battles in this world."
The middle-aged man slowly withdrew his gaze, his expression calm and unchanging, showing no intention of saying more, "Compared to Feng Jiuxuan, what I'm actually more curious about in your Great Yan Great Yan territory is your Prime Minister."
Upon hearing this, the hunched old man narrowed his gloomy eyes slightly, then chuckled softly. His laughter, dry and mournful like a ghostly wail in the silent snowy night, murmured:
"Xu Yinhe?"
The middle-aged man nodded slightly, glancing down at his hands, which were covered in claws and scales.
"Although Feng Jiuxuan is already amazing, he is not peerless among the humans I have seen. I have seen people stronger than him, but Xu Yinhe is different."
A strange light flickered in the hunched old man's eyes.
Lord of the Ancient Abyss, the White Emperor.
This great demon has lived for a time longer than the Great Yan Dynasty itself, and is essentially a living fossil. Those who have seen it and the things it has experienced are unknown to outsiders.
The hunched old man gently stroked his goatee, a thoughtful look appearing in his eyes, his smile somewhat sinister.
"Are you worried about that kid Xu Yinhe?"
The middle-aged man did not hide his worries; his voice was heavy.
"Yes, if Xu Yinhe's cultivation level is higher than Feng Jiuxuan's tonight..."
Don't worry.
The hunched old man chuckled, interrupting the middle-aged man. "That lad hasn't made a move in a long time, so I'm not entirely sure, but I imagine he's not as good as Feng Jiuxuan."
The middle-aged man was silent for a moment, the image of that dashing young man from years ago flashing through his mind. His deep voice rose and fell slightly:
"I met him once, and he doesn't seem like the type of person who would be overtaken by someone else."
"You're right. When those two lads were young, Feng Jiuxuan was indeed no match for that Xu fellow, but unfortunately, he hasn't focused on cultivation over the years."
Speaking of this, the hunched old man seemed somewhat excited, rubbing his hands together and saying in a low, sinister voice:
"People are like that; once they want to do something unrealistic, they have to let go of a lot of things."
"What a pity."
The middle-aged man looked towards Di'an City, remained silent for a moment, and then said with a hint of regret and relief, "When I first met Xu Yinhe, I thought that your human race could produce another figure like the Heaven Gate Sword Immortal."
The old man raised an eyebrow upon hearing this:
"White Emperor, you actually have such a high opinion of that young Xu fellow?"
The middle-aged man calmly gazed at the hunched old man:
"I think you, who have been forced to hide your true colors by him, have no right to say such a thing."
The hunchbacked old man wasn't angry upon hearing this; instead, he let out a few sinister laughs.
"Maintain close relationships with your friends, White Emperor. If you keep doing this, I'll get angry too, but I'll let it go this time, since you're not wrong."
As he spoke, he shook his head and snorted softly:
"However, with the current Source Qi in the world, it's impossible to produce a sword immortal-like figure."
"With a single sword strike, Overcast Sky Mountain was cleaved into Heaven Gate Mountain. Such a figure, if he existed in this world, would probably be unstoppable even by military formations. Tsk tsk."
"Maybe," the middle-aged man said noncommittally.
"Tap tap--"
After their casual conversation, the hunched old man raised a finger and gently tapped the stone table in front of him, then gave a slight, dry smile.
"White Emperor, tonight's events have served as a reminder. We'd better set a trap to eliminate Feng Jiuxuan and the other sages of the Prime Minister's Mansion first."
Upon hearing this, White Emperor's eyes showed a thoughtful expression:
"It's difficult. It's impossible to kill him within Di'an City unless Feng Jiuxuan leaves the Di'an City and his whereabouts are exposed."
"I knew you'd say that."
The hunched old man smiled meaningfully, as if he had already made up his mind, but he didn't say anything more. Instead, he smiled and said, "Alright, the interlude is over. Let's get down to business."
"White Emperor, we've gone to the Western Desert in cooperation with the Heavenly Oversight Pavilion. Is your Ancient Abyss interested in getting involved?"
The middle-aged man seemed to have already heard about this matter:
"Great Desert Goddess?"
The hunchbacked old man chuckled:
"The Tachao Royal Court is squandering such a precious treasure; how can we let it go?"
"But I remember that the Dachao People were also our allies."
"There are no eternal allies in this world. From the moment the Northern Barbarians were defeated and fell out with the Goddess, this alliance was automatically dissolved. Weakness is not a sin, but the sin of being weak without self-awareness is great."
As he spoke, the hunchbacked old man gave a sinister smile:
"Your Ancient Abyss has always been interested in the mythical beast, the Kirin Wolf, from the Great Desert, hasn't it?"
The White Emperor remained silent for a moment, about to speak, when his usually indifferent gaze suddenly turned to the side of the bamboo forest.
As his gaze shifted, the hunched old man sitting opposite him also raised an eyebrow and looked towards the secluded depths of the bamboo forest beside the pavilion.
It seems someone has been teleported there.
A moment of silence.
The hunchbacked old man grinned and said:
"It seems like God has given us a little something in return. Shall we do it, or shall I?"
"The Qi of the Demon Race race is too unique; it's very likely that the sages within the city will sense it."
"Then I'll do it. I'm an old man, and I'm surprised I'll have to do it myself someday."
After saying that,
The hunched old man suddenly raised his hand to the side and hooked it slightly.
"." Aurenli.
Ever since she was teleported out of the city by that "father" using a spatial magic ring, she has not dared to delay for a moment, and has been activating the spatial magic ring repeatedly to escape in a direction far away from the Great Yan Imperial Capital.
but,
What does this scene mean?
The power went out at home tonight, so I typed this in the dark on my phone. That's all I can do.
I'll try my best to make up for today's loss with 6,000 tomorrow.
