Su Feng strolled down the corridor while Nanao Ise hugged a stack of books to her chest, following close behind in quick little steps and occasionally opening one to record data.
"There are fifteen noble participants in the sacrificial ritual."
Su Feng stopped at the end of the gloomy corridor, his gaze settling on the prison cells ahead as Nanao Ise's voice reached his ears.
She pushed up the glasses on her high nose bridge and calmly reported, "They refused to say a word about the ritual's plans. Their attitudes were especially arrogant."
"Relying on their noble status, they've behaved with utter tyranny in the Prison."
After successfully returning to Seireitei, Nanao Ise had exercised her authority as the Ninth Division's Third Seat and sent every one of these criminals to Prison.
Jushiro Ukitake, meanwhile, had been hurriedly taken to the General Relief Station by Kiyone Kotetsu and Sentaro Kotsubaki.
While Su Feng had been discussing Kendo with Retsu Unohana, Ukitake had already been placed on the operating table, where several Seated Officers used combined Kaido to stabilize his frail body.
"Noble status?!"
Su Feng was astonished. "They slaughtered members of the Ryūdōji Clan, sacrificed the native gods of Rukongai, and committed such heinous crimes—and they still dare call themselves nobles?"
"Central 46 has yet to issue a ruling..." Nanao Ise sighed.
Though the Ise Family held noble status, she knew very little about her own origins.
As a result, she found it somewhat difficult to act against nobles.
The rules had already been engraved upon her soul.
"By the time those old fogeys in Central 46 issue their ruling, I'll be dead of old age."
Su Feng frowned. "Open the Torture Chamber. Give them the full treatment."
