Fire-Fighting Captain - Imu
Whether it was the contractors who were still alive or the magic circles deployed across the island, they were all teleportation anchors to Imu.
Yet even though the island where Qilin Gomu was located possessed a magic circle for teleportation, Imu chose not to appear there.
His abilities did not include resurrection, and although taking revenge for a dead subordinate was a meaningful endeavor, it clearly was not suited for the present moment.
Should other contractors encounter trouble as well, the blow to Imu would be immense.
This happened to fall precisely as a part of the operational plan, for in the current battle deployment, the forces of the Celestial Dragons did not hold much of an advantage, and some battlefields were even in a state of absolute inferiority.
Take the battlefield of Golden Lion and Roger, for instance. With the two of them having mastered Conqueror's Haki and already knowing their opponent's weaknesses, it would not be difficult to restrict one of them using the power of the Op-Op Fruit and kill them.
However, that would instead signify the failure of the operational plan. The contract's teleportation ability was, in a sense, too extraordinary, thus requiring the wartime situation to be kept at a special equilibrium point.
This would create the illusion for the World Government that they could win, that they were only a fraction away, and it was best to let Imu continuously dispense a portion of his own power to strengthen those subordinates who had already been dispatched.
"Roger, come to think of it... you guys didn't fight those Holy Knights very few times back then, did you?"
"Yeah, what about it?"
"You, Gaban, Rayleigh, didn't you three figure out the weaknesses of these Celestial Dragons? Didn't you kill them many times?"
