A person could not be a giant in thought and a dwarf in action.
So after receiving a batch of names, Hong Fei immediately packed his bags and prepared to leave.
"Frank, I'm leaving the house to you."
"Don't worry."
Turning around, Hong Fei looked at the reluctant Samuel and narrowed his eyes. "You seem like you have something to say?"
Samuel shrank back and stammered, "Boss, I think... looking like this, I'll probably only cause you trouble. Why not let me stay home and help you with some research..."
"And conveniently find a chance to control everyone here, then set a trap for me when I come back?" Hong Fei continued along his line of thought.
"No, no..." Samuel hurriedly shook his head.
But Hong Fei had no interest in hearing his explanation. He glared. "If not, then get in the car already! Why are you talking so much nonsense?"
Out of options, Samuel could only obediently take the passenger seat.
Just then, Helen Zhao came downstairs. Seeing Hong Fei, she asked curiously, "Mr. Hong, are you going out?"
Hong Fei seamlessly switched to a warm, enthusiastic smile. "Yes, I'm taking a long trip. If you need anything, just tell Frank anytime. He'll do his best to accommodate you."
"No problem. Have a safe trip."
As she passed the car, Helen Zhao smiled and nodded at Samuel. Fortunately, his oversized head was blocked by the car frame, or he would have given her quite a scare.
After getting into the car, Hong Fei found that the top of Samuel's head extended far above the roof. He had to tilt most of his head sideways just to sit comfortably.
"Oh? Looks like I need to get you a convertible."
Samuel smiled awkwardly.
Hong Fei waved a hand. "Recline the seat and lie down."
Outside the window, Frank watched the car.
Hong Fei called out to him again, "Remember the butler and financial officer I told you about!"
Frank curled his lip, apparently annoyed by his nagging, then turned and walked away.
The car started and drove out of the estate.
Samuel kept his head turned, watching the scenery race backward outside the window. Hong Fei did not bother wondering what he was thinking.
After entering New York, Hong Fei said, "Stay in the car later. I need to take care of something."
"Okay."
Before long, the car stopped beneath Stark Tower. After shutting off the engine, Hong Fei got out and entered the building without even removing the key.
Listening to the soft jingle of the dangling key, Samuel's ears twitched before his long, round head slowly turned around.
His gaze fell on the car key. A strange glimmer seemed to rise in his eyes, while the fingers resting on his knees trembled faintly.
However, that state lasted only a few seconds. Then he suddenly turned his head away and gave a heavy snort.
Stark Tower.
Hong Fei had not gone far after entering when a security guard stopped him.
To Hong Fei, the chubby face before him was not unfamiliar. Yet whenever he saw that serious expression, he always felt like laughing.
"Sir, who are you looking for?"
"I'm looking for Tony Stark."
Happy raised his thick brows, a strange smile appearing on his face. "You're looking for Mr. Stark? Do you have an appointment? Or do you know each other?"
"I don't have an appointment, but I do know him. He said I could be considered his friend." Hong Fei answered honestly.
Happy suddenly burst out laughing and draped an arm over Hong Fei's shoulder. "You're friends? Ha! Young man, do you know how many people like you I've met recently? Too many to count! Come on, listen to me. Go rest over there for a while. If Mr. Stark comes downstairs, I'll give you a chance to see him up close. And if Mr. Stark is in a good mood, he might even agree to take a picture with you. Now, please don't interfere with our work. Even fangirling has to be kept within reason, right?"
As he spoke, he pushed Hong Fei toward the lounge by the back.
Just as Hong Fei was about to say more, he suddenly caught sight of someone and immediately waved. "Miss Pepper!"
Not far away, Pepper, who had just come downstairs, immediately looked over.
Happy hurried to cover Hong Fei's mouth, but Master Hong deftly avoided him.
The moment she saw Hong Fei, Pepper greeted him with a broad smile.
"Hey, Hong, you're here."
Hearing that, Happy froze and immediately released Hong Fei.
"Miss Pepper, I came to see Mr. Stark."
Pepper nodded, smiling as she glanced at the embarrassed Happy before saying, "Hong, what do you need from him? He's been very busy lately. After going out a few days ago, he came back and hasn't left the building since."
"Ah, sorry, I didn't know that. I just wanted to ask him for an autograph. He told me to come find him myself before."
Pepper looked stunned.
Hong Fei added, "I promised a child that I'd get Tony's autograph for him."
Pepper understood at once and turned to invite him. "I see. Come with me. I'll take you to see him."
"This... what about your work..."
"It's fine. I'm not in a hurry."
"Sorry to trouble you."
"You're too polite."
The two walked off together. Happy stared blankly at their retreating backs for a moment. After stopping so many fakes, had he actually run into the real deal today?
After taking the elevator to the top floor, Hong Fei saw the busy Tony under Pepper's guidance.
Several complete suits of armor stood inside transparent display cases along one side of the room, immediately drawing Hong Fei's attention.
Pepper was used to it. After all, everyone who came here looked at those metal suits first.
Tony was bent over his worktable, his eyes sharp and his expression utterly focused.
Separated by glass, Pepper pressed the doorbell.
Tony slowly turned his head.
When he saw Hong Fei, he raised a brow and waved open the glass door.
After stepping inside, Pepper took the initiative to say, "He came to ask you for an autograph."
Tony stood up. "I know. I remember that. I thought he would come much earlier. I didn't expect him to wait so long. I'm afraid he didn't really want it."
Pepper smiled. "You were right. He's getting it for a child, which proves that not every adult worships Iron Man."
Tony looked toward Hong Fei and saw only an honest, harmless smile.
Pepper opened a cabinet and took out an Iron Man model, then handed it and a marker to Tony.
Tony took them, signed the back of the model with a flourish, tossed aside the marker, and walked toward Hong Fei with the model in hand.
"I really thought you'd come sooner."
Hong Fei smiled sheepishly. "The news said you were dealing with a lot of things then, so I didn't want to disturb you."
"Very good. Take it."
Taking the model, Hong Fei could tell it was exquisitely made. It also felt satisfyingly heavy in his hand.
After Hong Fei left under Pepper's guidance, Tony suddenly spoke.
"Jarvis, is it him?"
"Sir, the comprehensive analysis indicates a similarity of 27%."
"Is that high?"
"Very low."
