Uchiha Kazuhiko finished a day's work and returned to the center of the clan grounds, to Eri's little courtyard.
The courtyard wasn't large. Beyond the gate were flowers and trees, making for a pleasant view.
The heroine of My Medical Jonin Mother, Eri, sat beneath the covered walkway, watching his dad, Uchiha Hideki, prune the cherry tree.
Uchiha Eri was already forty-two this year. She had lived through two Shinobi World Wars, yet perhaps because she was a medical ninja, she looked much younger than an ordinary middle-aged woman.
"Mom, you look especially beautiful today. Tying your hair up makes you look younger."
Kazuhiko laid on the flattery the moment he opened his mouth.
Eri glanced at him without much expression. "When you're this sweet-tongued, it never means anything good." Then she went back to directing her husband. "Don't prune too much on the outside. I want next year's cherry blossoms to be more brilliant."
After making sure her husband wasn't doing anything wrong, Eri finally looked at her son. "All right, what trouble have you gotten into this time?"
Kazuhiko's family was a typical Uchiha household: whoever had the strongest fist was the one in the right.
Eri was undoubtedly the sole ruler of their little courtyard.
Kazuhiko and his Chunin dad together could be taken out by a single look from Eri.
"Mom, come on. Can't a son just compliment his mother for once?"
After speaking, Kazuhiko rolled up his sleeves and went over to the cherry tree, ready to lend a hand and show off. His mother was his greatest backer, as well as his main way of getting ninjutsu and Uchiha secret techniques.
"Dad, what can I do?"
His dad, Hideki, didn't even look at Kazuhiko as he replied blandly:
"I saved you some food. Don't come over here and make trouble."
Hideki, a handsome middle-aged man, was the ultimate househusband and master of household chores, the man who silently supported Eri as she moved forward.
He was also the ultimate husbandly type, a possessor of the Husband Aura trait, and the Uchiha Succubus who could make "The Domineering Jonin Falls for Me" a reality.
But then again, in Kazuhiko's family:
His mother, Eri, was the head of the household, followed by Kazuhiko, then their Ninja Cat, Black Charcoal. His dad, Hideki, ranked below the cat. There was no need to say more about his status in the family.
Seeing that neither of his parents wanted him around, Kazuhiko obediently went back to the living room to eat.
He'd expended plenty of energy throughout the day and needed to replenish it.
Watching her son's back, Eri wondered, Is the little brat asking for money again?
Clearly, Eri wasn't all that different from an ordinary housewife.
When her son suddenly showered her with sweet words, her first reaction wasn't happiness. Instead, she wondered what he was scheming. Had he gotten into trouble outside?
Or did he want to ask his mom for money again?
There was no way I really looked young and beautiful today, was there?
Eri shook her head and reached a firm conclusion:
The little brat definitely wanted money again!
Kazuhiko had no idea what his mother was thinking. He sat down at the dining table and dug in.
Four dishes and a soup, two meat dishes and two vegetable dishes—that was the taste of his dad's cooking.
"Life is good~" Kazuhiko sighed contentedly.
This was the world of Naruto. Families like Kazuhiko's, who could live such a happy, fulfilling life, were truly rare.
From the Hokage down to ordinary civilians, nearly everyone renowned in the Shinobi World had their own misfortunes.
So even though he was a transmigrator, he was genuinely grateful to his parents.
At least in his memories, he'd never gone hungry at home. He'd climbed trees, caught fish, gotten into trouble and been punished, and suffered the same discrimination and bullying as the protagonists. He'd had a childhood that would've made Naruto and Sasuke weep with envy.
His life was so good that even Infinite Tsukuyomi would be overkill—a waste of Madara's chakra.
So Kazuhiko was going to whip the Uchiha and Konoha into shape and protect this precious family of his.
"Now that I'm a transmigrator, I've got to make sure my family lives in peace and happiness."
Kazuhiko shoveled food into his mouth as he thought.
He had to get stronger quickly and build a force of his own—the sooner, the better!
He also had to be wary of Danzo, the Konoha High Command, and Uchiha Obito.
He couldn't successfully train Shisui and Itachi, only for some other guy to team up with Obito behind the scenes and carry out a genocide.
After all, Itachi wasn't the only one responsible for the Uchiha Clan massacre.
Kazuhiko didn't understand how Obito, the ultimate love-struck fool, thought, and he didn't want to.
The Fourth Hokage and his wife, and the Uchiha Clan, hadn't wronged him. Yet he killed them all. It was utterly vile.
But it wasn't time to worry about Obito yet.
Helping Shota awaken his Sharingan without injury this time would prove that his Psychological Medicine was scientifically sound.
Then he could gain a certain amount of influence within the clan and earn the attention of the clan head, Uchiha Fugaku.
If Fugaku had already awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan and possessed Kage Level strength, Kazuhiko would have a way to get the chance to draw a Kage Level trait...
A Jonin trait could also greatly boost his strength, but unfortunately, he was too weak. Apart from relying on his mom and sweet-talking Shisui, it was hard to get even the other Jonin to take him seriously.
"To forge iron, you need to be strong yourself. First, I need to turn the traits I've drawn into actual strength as quickly as possible!"
After finishing his meal, Kazuhiko immediately slipped back to his room and began to refine chakra.
Chakra was formed by using mental energy to guide and extract energy from all 130 trillion cells in the body, then combining it with spiritual energy. It circulated continuously through the chakra pathways.
The strength of a person's cells and chakra pathways determined how much chakra they had.
When it came to chakra reserves, Senju Hashirama, the God of Shinobi, stood in a league of his own. He was practically a "human Tailed Beast."
That was why, even many years after Hashirama's death, his cells remained active and benefited the Shinobi World. His abundant chakra kept the Hashirama Cells vigorous and teeming with life.
Hashirama: Ah, I'm dead.
Cells: No, I'm not.
Uchiha Kazuhiko's cells and chakra pathways, on the other hand, were in a sorry state.
As a perennial Medical Genin and a five-battle-won't fighter, the original owner had kept his chakra reserves at 0.25 cards for years. Only after equipping [Chakra Thickening] had they begun to rise slowly, breaking through their former limit.
Now, Kazuhiko equipped the [Chakra Thickening (Green)] trait and worked hard to refine his chakra to its peak, fulfilling the conditions for permanent fixation.
As he refined it, he felt waves of heat forming and surging through his body, filling every cell until they felt full and plump.
The Shisui trait had increased his chakra reserves to 0.4 cards, which had also greatly sped up his chakra refinement.
If his chakra refinement at 0.25 cards had been a stream, his efficiency now had grown into a river, beginning to take shape.
He only stopped when his cells and chakra pathways began to swell and could no longer bear any more.
[Chakra Reserves +0.1]--[Chakra: 0.5 cards]
[Chakra Thickening · Green]--[Trait Permanently Fixed]
After all this time training without fail, his chakra reserves had finally reached their absolute peak. There was no room for further progress. He had achieved the astonishing limit of a Genin—
the ninth-rank chakra, peak perfection state.
Uchiha Kazuhiko now felt terrifyingly strong!
He opened his eyes and clenched his fists, bending his arms as the muscles swelled with blood. A sensation of power capable of punching through anything rose within him.
"The power of chakra is truly intoxicating."
