Background / History
Tang San initially regarded his Blue Silver Grass as a trash martial soul and placed great faith in Yu Xiaogang's Ten Core Competencies of Martial Soul. He cited his absorption of a more than four-hundred-year Mandala Snake ring as proof of the theory, believing its paralytic toxins and reinforcement of his Blue Silver Grass validated his teacher's guidance 36.
Qian Pingchuan later identified Tang San's martial soul as a Blue Silver Emperor and noted that they shared its bloodline. Tang San rejected this assessment, insisting that his martial soul was only weak Blue Silver Grass and trusting Yu Xiaogang over Qian Pingchuan 38.
Tang San witnessed Xiong Jun kill Tang Hao and take his soul bones. During this event, he learned that his mother was the Blue Silver Emperor and swore revenge 45. Afterward, he absorbed an eight-thousand-year Azure Vine soul ring, causing a second awakening that transformed his martial soul into the Dark Blue Silver Emperor 84.
His reunion with Yu Xiaogang ended their master-disciple relationship. Tang San blamed Yu Xiaogang for failing to recognize his Blue Silver Emperor bloodline and thereby costing him the chance to awaken it properly; he expelled Yu Xiaogang and refused to seek revenge on his behalf 84.
Tang San was killed by Qian Pingchuan during the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament period 85. He later appears as a deity at the Sea God Temple, where he prepares with the Shrek group for an Outer Realm Heavenly Demon invasion 119. He is subsequently defeated by Gu Yuna, then dies again at the Sea God Temple during the conflict with the Outer Realm Heavenly Demon 125 130.
Later, Tang San enters the Holy Spirit Sect trial seeking cultivation resources and immortal-grade herbs for the Tang Sect's revival. He accepts Poison Pig Douluo's offer of mentorship and begins cultivating the Star Absorbing Great Skill, rapidly pursuing the position of Holy Son 147 148.

Personality

After learning the truth of his bloodline and suffering repeated losses, he becomes more independent and resentful. He abandons blind loyalty to Yu Xiaogang, holds him responsible for his lost potential, and pursues revenge for his parents 45 84.
During the Holy Spirit Sect trial, Tang San becomes notably ruthless and power-driven. He considers killing opponents without warning, drains victims of soul power and flesh, and sees the trial's kill-and-plunder format as suited to him 150. He nevertheless continues to act strategically, negotiating with Tang Qianhua and seeking resources for the Tang Sect's revival 147 158.
