Background

Guangyu is a descendant of Guang Ling Douluo's lineage and one of the surviving descendants of Martial Soul Hall. His family, along with the lines of several great elders, withdrew to islands beyond the Ice Sea to escape the major empires, Shrek, and the Sun Moon Empire. The descendants preserved the Angel God's order to avoid continental affairs and waited for a new Young Master to appear 6.

He became a guest teacher at Zhengtian Academy specifically to wait for the return of Martial Soul Hall's Young Master. While leading an academy hunting squad in the Star Dou Forest, he encountered Ye Que and learned that the boy possessed the long-lost Six-Winged Angel martial soul 5 6.

Overwhelmed by the revelation, Guangyu immediately recognized Ye Que as the Young Master of the Martial Soul Hall lineage and pledged himself as Ye Que's servant. He invited Ye Que to join Zhengtian Academy, where he could provide protection and cultivate the future leader of their faction 6.

Guangyu is initially approachable and considerate, inviting the unaffiliated Ye Que to share a meal and offering to assist with his soul-ring hunt. He respects Ye Que's wish to rely on himself rather than force his help upon him 5.

His loyalty to Martial Soul Hall is absolute. The appearance of a Six-Winged Angel moves him to tears, as he sees Ye Que as the fulfillment of the mission his lineage has upheld for ten thousand years 6.

As a teacher, Guangyu is attentive but demanding. He personally trains Ye Que and Yu Mengdi, supplies them with cultivation resources, teaches them advanced movement techniques, and subjects the Zhengtian Academy team to daily sparring so they can improve before the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament 11 14.

Discovery of the Young Master

Guangyu encounters Ye Que in the Star Dou Forest while escorting Zhengtian Academy students on a soul-ring hunt. After confirming Ye Que's Six-Winged Angel martial soul, he reveals the survival of Martial Soul Hall's descendant families and pledges loyalty to him 5 6.

Star Dou Forest Soul Hunt

He leads Ye Que's group into the forest's Mixed Zone, helps Shangguan Can secure a fourth soul ring, and supports Ye Que's hunt for the Holy Unicorn King. Guangyu ultimately kills the wounded Unicorn King with Extreme Fire and stabilizes Ye Que during the dangerous absorption of its ten-thousand-year soul ring 7 8 9.

Zhengtian Academy Training

Guangyu arranges Ye Que's enrollment at Zhengtian Academy under the guise of Yu Mengdi's younger brother. He becomes Ye Que's private tutor, providing cultivation resources, physical training, combat instruction, and the Ten Thousand Feet in One Line battle technique 10 11.

He later organizes a four-versus-one spar between Ye Que and Ye Wuqing's team, then orders daily rematches after Ye Que decisively defeats them. His goal is to prepare the academy's team to challenge Shrek in the upcoming tournament 12 14.

Underground Soul Fighting Arena

Guangyu leads Ye Que, Yu Mengdi, and Ye Wuqing to a secret arena where they can earn money and seek out Evil Soul Masters. He shares in their gambling profits and later exchanges the winnings after the clash with the Holy Spirit Cult 23 26 29.

When Nangong Wan attempts to interfere in Ye Que's fight, Guangyu and Dragon Subduing Douluo intercept him. Guangyu provides ranged support that helps leave the nine-ringed Evil Soul Master severely wounded and unable to escape 28 29.

Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well

Guangyu follows Ye Que to the Sunset Forest and receives an immortal herb chosen for his martial soul at the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well 31 32. After consuming it, he advances from level 94 to level 96, reaching the Super Douluo realm 33.

He remains concerned that Ye Que's rapidly rising power and Twelve-Winged Seraph form will attract unwanted attention, even as he recognizes the immense benefits these developments bring to Martial Soul Hall's surviving descendants 34.

Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast Hunt

Guangyu joins Ye Que, Dragon Subduing Douluo, Du Busi, and the Body Sect in the plan to obtain high-age soul rings. He supports Ye Que's decision to aid Shrek City against the resulting beast tide despite their hostility toward Shrek, refusing to allow a catastrophe of widespread death and destruction 36 42.
