Background

Su Huan had heard of Liang Kuan before his rebirth, but Liang had died early in the previous timeline and they had never met. Their encounter after Su Huan’s rebirth is a coincidence: Liang is a train driver and becomes the first core member of the Armed Train. 2

Liang accepts Su Huan’s authority because Su Huan’s knowledge and decisions offer him a chance to survive long enough to see his daughter. He is notably more dependable than Su Huan’s former teammates, who had betrayed him in the past. 2

By the aftermath of the Blood Hound attack, Su Huan considers Liang’s performance sufficient to place him on the internal-member list. 9

Zombie Horde and Water Plant Operations

Liang drives the Armed Train through a zombie horde and helps ram a Tier 1 Butcher blocking the tracks. 18

During the Water Plant operation, he acts as defense and support for Su Huan and Yu Yue, guards the flanks with a sniper crossbow, finishes a dying Tier 1 Terror Claw Cat, and helps load recovered fuel. 33 34

Defender Awakening

Su Huan deliberately gives Liang more combat opportunities after recognizing that ordinary Pan-Energy accumulation may not suit a Defender’s evolution. 37

Liang fights through zombie-filled trains with a shield and baton before boarding a Hydrogen Train infested with Tier 1 Night Demons. Mortally wounded during the battle, he awakens through extreme combat, kills a Night Demon with his shield, and becomes a Defender. 41 42

After awakening, Liang helps inspect the Hydrogen Train and provides technical information that supports Su Huan’s decision to salvage and integrate eight of its carriages into the Armed Train. 42 43
