Level C Mission

Qingyun, Minato, and Yoshihime nodded immediately.

"Alright, now, let's eat together! Once we're done, head home, get some good rest, and gather tomorrow! I will teach you how to carry out missions." White Fang then treated everyone to a meal, serving as a simple social gathering; perhaps White Fang didn't want the atmosphere between them to be so tense.

After the meal, everyone followed their teacher's orders and headed home. Qingyun naturally did the same, resting well for the night, and arrived at the meeting point early the next morning.

Soon, everyone had gathered, and Sakumo led them to the mission distribution center for the first time.

Accepting and posting missions doesn't only happen in the Hokage's office.

D-rank missions, for instance, carry virtually no risk, so they can be accepted directly at the distribution point.

Originally, everyone had been brimming with excitement, eager to make a name for themselves in the ninja world, but upon seeing these D-rank missions, they all felt deeply despairing.

Finding lost cats, helping farmers weed fields, catching bugs, and repairing damaged furniture.

"Are we really going to complete these?" Yoshihime had never seen such missions before and naturally found it hard to believe.

In short, Qingyun's daily life was very fulfilling, and as the mission volume gradually increased, the total number of D-rank missions for Qingyun's squad began to accumulate.

Finally, one day, Qingyun, Minato, and Yoshihime accepted a slightly more challenging mission: acting as bodyguards.

A merchant caravan was traveling from Konoha toward the Land of Hot Water, and Qingyun's team was tasked with protecting them from attacks by bandits and outlaws.

Since this was their first C-rank mission, Teacher White Fang took it very seriously and was already waiting for Qingyun at the gates of Konoha early in the morning.

It wasn't long before Qingyun and his teammates arrived at the gate.

"Congratulations. Having completed many D-rank missions, I have specifically petitioned the Third Hokage to allow you to attempt a C-rank mission under my guidance. If you perform well on this mission, you will be able to accept C-rank missions from now on."

"I have great confidence in your strength, but escorting a caravan is about protecting the client, not defeating the enemy. I hope you keep that in mind."

"Unless it is a matter of life and death, I will not intervene." After White Fang finished speaking, he asked, "Does anyone have any questions?"

A massive merchant caravan set off from Konohagakure, heading toward the Land of Hot Water.

As the sky gradually darkened, the people in the caravan grew exhausted, their energy nearly spent.

Qingyun and Minato were both a bit worried, as their current location was quite rugged—a spot perfectly suited for an ambush.

White Fang also spoke up immediately: "Sir, if you want to rest, let's travel a bit further. This is not a suitable place to stop."

"You're being too cautious," the caravan leader laughed. "There's no need to be so careful. A whole day has passed; I doubt anyone would dare to rob us now."

"Besides, you are Konoha's White Fang!" the caravan leader said with a smug smile.

"Apologies, but the mission is to escort you, and in reality, it is my students who are protecting you. I will not be taking action." White Fang, somewhat untamed, didn't take the client's words to heart.

"If you think it's fine, then rest here. If any trouble arises, it has nothing to do with us; after all, this is your choice." White Fang shook his head, not bothering to argue further with these people.

Qingyun nodded. In the ninja world, one must be careful; as the saying goes, "better safe than sorry." No matter how strong one is, one can still be taken down by a sneak attack.

"Hahaha! Don't worry about it!" the caravan leader dismissed the concern.

Not long after they settled down to rest, a piercing whistle suddenly rang out—a signal clearly sent by someone else.

As soon as the signal appeared, the rugged area was immediately surrounded by a group of cutthroats.
