The outcome of the battle was already obvious. Ryokichi Akimichi had completely failed to keep up with Matsubara.

Before long, Matsubara had worn Ryokichi down, and Ryokichi ultimately lost the match.

It was fair to say that this match had given Qingyun a better understanding of just how formidable the team that had first reached the Central Tower was.

Next, the Third Hokage once again announced that the drawing of lots would begin.

The names on the screen began scrolling at an incredible speed.

"Stop!" the Third Hokage shouted.

Everyone turned their eyes to the screen.

There weren't many people left, so Qingyun's name appeared on the screen without much trouble.

As for the other name, Qingyun had never heard it before. Apparently, it belonged to a Grass Ninja named Sakama.

"Do your best! Beat him quickly!" Yoshihime and Minato both cheered Qingyun on.

Qingyun smiled faintly. "Don't worry."

Qingyun had no impression of this Grass Ninja at all, and he didn't have any teammates left, either.

"Don't bother looking. I'm the last Grass Ninja. If I lose, everyone from Kusagakure will be eliminated," said the ninja called Sakama.

"So?" Qingyun asked.

"So I'm going to give it everything I've got and beat you, kid! You look like a little boy, so here's a warning: I possess a Kekkei Genkai!"

"A Kekkei Genkai?" Qingyun knew how precious Kekkei Genkai were. Pretending to be a little skeptical, he asked, "What kind of Kekkei Genkai do you have?"

"You'll find out when we fight! If I told you now, wouldn't I be giving away my strength?!" The man couldn't help grumbling, and the atmosphere around them became a lot more amusing.

"That may be true, but I'd like to point out that even if you're special, I'm even more special. Bring it on. I want to see how powerful this Kekkei Genkai of yours really is!" Qingyun wasn't the least bit afraid of his opponent.

The ninja called Sakama used a ninjutsu technique against Qingyun the instant the match began.

As soon as the technique appeared, Qingyun knew what kind of Kekkei Genkai his opponent possessed.

His opponent's ninjutsu was a massive flow of lava.

The scorching lava was powerful. It was a transformation in the nature of Fire and Earth chakra.

"Lava Release? I didn't expect you really to be a Kekkei Genkai user!" Qingyun quietly activated his Sharingan and Byakugan, seeing right through everything about the man before him.

"Water Release: Water Formation Wall!" Qingyun tried to block his opponent's Lava Release with a Water Formation Wall, but unfortunately, his Water Release couldn't fully stop a ninjutsu with such a special nature.

The Water Formation Wall was completely breached the very next second.

However, Qingyun used the brief moment of resistance to move out of the way.

"Hahaha! This is my power! Lava Release! Kid from Konoha, I suggest you give up now. Injuries from my Lava Release are very hard to recover from!" Sakama said smugly.

Qingyun shouted back, "Don't get ahead of yourself. Try hitting me first!"

"Hmph! You fool!" Sakama launched a series of attacks, and his Lava Release nearly destroyed the arena floor.

Qingyun kept dodging.

"Stop running, you brat! Let's settle this once and for all!" Sakama shouted.

"Clatter!" Several Kunai flew toward Sakama, and he immediately knocked them aside with his own Kunai.

"I see. He used his Kunai to deflect mine. He could've used the lava, but perhaps that would've consumed too much chakra."

"Even though this guy can use Lava Release, he can only use it for ranged attacks. In other words, he has trouble using Lava Release in close combat." Once Qingyun figured this out, he instantly moved next to Sakama and began fighting at close quarters.

"Chakra Enhanced Strength, Armament Haki!" Using Chakra Enhanced Strength and Armament Haki, Qingyun immediately overpowered Sakama.

"Your weakness is close combat! You have no room to use your Kekkei Genkai like this," Qingyun said as he fought Sakama.

"Damn it!" Sakama was clearly flustered. In the past, his opponents had only been driven farther and farther away by his Lava Release. Now, someone had closed the distance in an instant.

"You're such a pain! Fine! I'd planned to save this move for last! Lava Release: Flame Demon!" Sakama formed Hand Seals, and then his entire body underwent a drastic transformation. He seemed to burst into flames.

His skin began to bulge, and his whole body grew incredibly hard.

In no time, Sakama had become a fiery stone giant.

"Is this for real? Are we in a movie?!"

"This guy is unbelievable!"

"I never knew Kusagakure had someone like him! This is really interesting!"

The Grass Ninja's determination immediately caught the attention of the Feudal Lord and the others, and it also put Qingyun on guard.

"Now I don't have to worry about close combat!"

Sakama charged at Qingyun without hesitation. At range, Sakama could unleash ninjutsu. Now that they were close, Qingyun also had to avoid being burned by the lava monster Sakama had become.

Qingyun was in an awkward position. He couldn't get close, but he couldn't stay far away, either.

"This form can't last long," Qingyun knew that his opponent was pushing himself to the limit.

"Wind Release: Great Breakthrough!" Qingyun used Wind Release to try to control the distance between them, but Sakama simply raised his hand and fired a Lava Bullet. His attack wasn't affected by the Wind Release at all; it flew straight toward Qingyun.

"Ordinary Wind Release won't work anymore, and I can't get close even with a Rasengan." Qingyun considered what he could do. His only options were to use Lightning Release or a composite ninjutsu.

"A composite ninjutsu using two elements can't compare with a Kekkei Genkai that already has a nature transformation. And I don't want to reveal my Lightning Release yet!" In the end, Qingyun decided to take a risk and use a composite ninjutsu with three elements.

"A composite ninjutsu with three elements should be enough to deal with a Kekkei Genkai that fuses two elements, right? If it still doesn't work..." Qingyun didn't think any further. Instead, he used a smoke bomb to conceal himself, then used a Shadow Clone to pinpoint their positions. He and his clone formed Hand Seals together, combining their ninjutsu.

"Wind Release!"

"Lightning Release!"

"Lightning Dragon Flame Soaring Explosion!" Qingyun used his three-nature ninjutsu once again! The composite technique, combining three elements, left the Third Hokage astonished.

"What a brilliant idea! That's Qingyun for you!" said the spectators who knew him well.

"Three elements! I never expected Qingyun to be able to skillfully combine three different ninjutsu!" The Third Hokage was astonished as well.
