"Did we strike back?"
Upon hearing Imotekh say those words, Guilliman set down the ring given to him by the Grand Master of the Assassinorum, and everything he had seen vanished like smoke.
There was no need to keep watching. The Primarch already knew what had happened.
Those five High Lords had surely been persuaded into believing that the Necrons did not truly wish for war, and that the Imperium still had a chance to avoid it.
From a military strategic perspective, it was right not to drive one's enemy into a corner.
As leaders of the Necrons' enemy, once the Imperium's High Lords no longer believed, as the Primarch had said, that war was inevitable, and instead saw a sliver of hope, they would waver.
Shattering their will to fight was a minor matter. What Guilliman found most terrifying about Imotekh's actions was that they could lead to a rupture in the cooperative relationship between Talon and the Imperium.
"I thought the Storm King valued honor and would employ open, aboveboard methods." Guilliman returned the ring to the Grand Master. "Now it seems the only difference between him and the Silent King is that he knows how to fight."
"Of course he values honor, but he is a true general." The Emperor said, "In the midst of fierce war, where is there room for honor and ceremony? Doing whatever it takes to win is the only truth, and Imotekh is a military commander skilled in every kind of strategy and tactic."
Guilliman nodded and sighed.
After several seconds of silence, Guilliman suddenly asked the Emperor, "How were you able to enter the Tomb World? Aren't their Tomb Worlds shrouded in Blackstone that suppresses Psychic Power?"
Even the Emperor found this strange. He thought about it in confusion, then shrugged.
