A Void War on a far grander scale than the Orphus liberation campaign had begun. On one side were the Necron Dynasties, seeking to swiftly break the deadlock under the orders of Szarekh, the Silent King. On the other was the human navy, which had long sought a decisive fleet battle and had finally gotten its wish.
With both sides so determined and so materially powerful, it was impossible for this fleet battle to produce a foreseeable outcome shortly after its outbreak.
The Glorious Humanity flagship unleashed its full firepower. Yet the light emitted by its many terrifying weapons did not block the view of those standing before the bridge windows, because those vast, magnificent windows were themselves products of virtual technology, filtering out the glare of weapons fire.
Adam, Marshal of the Tyran Navy fleet, and Admiral Quaren of the Imperial Solar System Navy stood solemnly side by side. Numerous orders issued from their mouths at once, then were transmitted in real time to their respective battle formations.
"I still suspect this is Imotekh's scheme," Lion said to Grey.
"If it is a scheme, then it has merely given both sides the situation they wanted," Grey said quietly. "We truly did crave a decisive Void War."
As the two spoke, large numbers of Necron Transport Ships descended through Pocket Dimensions onto the many planets within the Orphus Sector, deploying ground forces onto the battlefield.
Lion and Grey had no time to admire the magnificent spectacle of the naval battle. They immediately threw themselves into command.
