"Vulkan was still as responsible as ever. It seemed his experiences had not changed him much."
The Emperor swept his gaze over the Primarchs, looking relieved.
Qin Mo, meanwhile, was curious.
When he had used the Dominion Engine to travel to the ruined universe where Vulkan had been swallowed by the Warp, he had used it to examine Vulkan.
That universe had already been utterly defeated in its struggle against the enemies of reality. Reality and the Warp, two domains that were inherently repelled by each other, had been churned together there like a muddled slurry. Vulkan had lived within that slurry for a long time. Had he been affected by the Warp?
But Vulkan had not been affected, even in such an environment.
Qin Mo could not help but wonder about the many hidden truths behind the Primarchs. He knew that every Primarch possessed a Warp essence of his own; they were not creatures of reality.
Yet even so, the Dark Gods' unreasonable powers of corruption and influence did not seem to work particularly well on them.
For comparison.
Grot had once nearly been forcibly elevated to daemonhood by Khorne.
Rogal Dorn had been trapped and harassed in every possible way by Khorne, but whether Khorne could obtain a new slave still depended on what Rogal Dorn himself wanted.
But the Primarchs who had ascended to daemonhood displayed in every detail that they had become part of the gods.
On further reflection, if Primarchs chose to throw themselves into the embrace of the gods, what they had to relinquish was not merely their responsibilities, original forms, and sense of self. They also gave up their Warp essences, which even the gods could not forcibly interfere with.
"The plan to recover the other Primarchs was feasible after all."
