The screams, enough to drive the crews of the human fleets stationed near the Celestial Engine mad, were contained within the Cognitive Filter surrounding the Solar Engine.
The Void Dragon waited at the entrance to the abode of the gods.
Then a blue light pierced the void and shot into the Solar Engine. When the light faded, the Void Dragon saw Qin Mo appear before it.
"Good work."
The moment they met, Qin Mo offered a heartfelt compliment.
Before the temporal operation began, Qin Mo had tasked the gods with locating other C'tan. Now, that task had borne fruit.
The Void Dragon had led repeated operations to seize C'tan from the Necrons, and every one had succeeded. The number of C'tan had now increased dramatically.
Qin Mo had thought he would need to devote attention to this matter himself, but the Void Dragon—one of the three great C'tan of the ancient era, powerful yet unlike the Burner and Nightbringer in its madness—could clearly handle such a minor task perfectly after the God-slaying weapon was destroyed.
"I discovered during the operations that the Necrophages are splitting apart." The Void Dragon was unmoved by gratitude and praise. "It seems your soul plan was indeed wise."
"Compared to the C'tan, that is a small matter." Qin Mo dismissed it in a single sentence.
The Kanak Dynasty had already obtained souls, and the repercussions of that matter had stirred up a new crisis within the Necron race.
Fortunately, the "carrot" the Emperor had originally made for the Aeldari was indeed useful. Granting souls was simple enough: The Chronicler merely took the "carrot" to the Kanak Dynasty and gave them the souls it produced. That was all.
Yet whenever Qin Mo thought
